I respectfully disagree with that statement. Nintendo keeping everything about the NX secret is in fact generating more hype around the console - everyone and their mother is talking about it. Even neoGAF which is Sony fanboy central is all up in it's business. It's nuts.
Now you could see this as a good and bad thing - the thing with hype is that you gotta know just when to release more info. You let the hype build up too much and no matter how good the end product is people are still going to be dissapointed.

Yea when that person asked the nintendo representative about its potential $250 price and other rumors the rep didnt look too pleased. I dont remember the source but it did happen. Nintendo still lives in it own world this new console is easily the highest boom or bust console ive ever seen.

still basing our discussion on that rumor NX and PS4K will be on par ...4k output for both...
this will kill X1.

PS4K will be not as powerful ,you will not have too much difference on multiplatform games like Fifa or Cod because it is Sony itself to preventing it for obvious reasons...
that will be an increment but not too much to piss 20 million PS4 users.
Obviously Sony will phase out "old" ps4 and from next holiday on producing only ps4k ...

the gap will be noticeable on nintendo side, from wiiu to nx the difference will be huge.
X1 not having even 4k streaming capabilities will be the weaker then ... and in long term this will kill them ...even in usa and UK... rest of the world X1 is already dead ...

But if instead of AMD rumor we take the ARM rumor, then again the PS4k and NX will be not competitors, NX will be way cheaper about 299 with zeldaUNX , and this again will kill X1 market on that price tag being new and more powerful ...

It is equipped with HDMI 2.0 so 4k 60 is within the possibility, just none of the more demanding games.
I highly doubt Nintendo will go with those insanely powerful arm chips capable of 2 tera-flops (like the still mysterious tegra x2 used in px2 and amd's own k12 apu).
Any way unless nintendo continue their current crappy games path x1 is in a pretty bad position. And there are bro games.

The Lead Head Honcho Person at Microsoft said that they won't be making an XBox One-and-a-half (then again, who knows if that actually means anything)

Also, ya'll are forgetting about Miitomo; it has well over 3 million downloads by now and you can bet your ass that Nintendo will use it for marketing. Nintendo finally has the perfect advertising platform, think about it. The hardcore fans downloaded Miitomo day one because they wanted to see what it was all about. They were pleased, told their friends that Nintendo launched a new social networking app and that they should try it out, and they did. They downloaded it, thought it was cute, told their friends and got a group going. Due to how Miitomo's friend system works, it relies on word-of-mouth rather than searching people up on the internet, and due to the app being free it's not a huge inconvenience for someone to download. Once the NX launches users of the app will at the very least get a notification prompting them to go to Nintendo's website, and will most likely get Miitomo coins for watching trailers detailing what the system is about.

Im absolutely sure it WONT have backwards compatibility. That is in the form of older discs. They will most likely resell it at FULL PRICE on the eshop. That is of course if you didnt already buy the eshop version of the same game, in that case they'll only charge you 80%.

Why? because its Trumptendo

Nintendo isn't that clueless, they didn't even sell the eShop Wii games at retail price. The only way they'd ever sell a game at the same price it launched at is if they "remastered" it

Okay ill give you that, they did sell select wii games on eshop very late. but its probably because the wiiu had garbage hard drive space. gamecube had more power than the ps2 and was cheaper but its decision to not have any media options killed it. I believe the next nintendo WILL repeats its same mistakes. It even sounds like its gonna be the wiiu v2. We've heard early info about the ps4k already but squat from the "NX"

What kind of info? I haven't heard anything yet, aside from rumors. And Nintendo being mysterious about the NX is building hype, look at all the fake leaks that have sprung up generating free publicity. I genuinely believe that as long as Nintendo can make it clear to their fanbase that their new console will NOT be an add on to the Wii or Wii U, they will be able to pull it together and control the market like they did in the Super Nintendo days
 
real confirmed specs of power from ps4k and that itll release soon, Nintendo nx stuff is baseless speculation.
 
I still feel cheated from buying the wiiu. All the "hype" is sad hype. 3mil mitomo download isnt anything special. Its all the hardcore nintendo fanbase. Its about the same number as the day one wiiu buyer numbers which sales died after that.
 
alright so they were rumored by osirsblack and ign confirmed it was gonna launch soon with 30-50% more power or something. But back to the nintendo, i dont like the talk about using old controllers, its complete nonsense. Im suppose to grab my old ass gamecube controllers from 2001? or my old wavebird from 2003? My wiimote from 2006? All that stuff is a decade old... The wiiu gamepad had garbage battery life. I dont think they package a controller, im assuming they wont package any controller using the example of the n3ds not packaging an ac charger because 'everyone' already has one... cocky bastards. The best games for wiiu were best played online too: Smash Bros, Splatoon, Mariokart8, MarioMaker. At first i was optimistic sorta, but now im just getting impatient. Some things your guts tells you its not as good as you wish it was and my gut is telling me this system wont be as good as i hope it will.
