Hacking Banner Brick help

I banner bricked my Wii. Yeah. I kinda (hehe) tried making my own (hehe) channel.
I already tried doing the SaveMiiFrii, like a million times, and it doesn't work. Is it because I'm on 4.0? Does SaveMiiFrii NOT work on 4.0?
I don't have Starfall installed and I don't have preloader installed...
What should I do?

Yes. The controller is on the 4th slot.
Although it could be not working because it's 3rd party.

But I remember this guy having the exact same one that I have and he says it works. Forgot.

Keep trying, some times it takes people upto 10 goes to get it to work.

but savemiifrii boots the disc in the drive, so a modchip can boot discs with the required tools
if you have no modchip, you need to run Twilight princess so you can use the Twilight hack to boot the wad manager

Could you load backups from the disc channel? or did you use gamma, softchip or no backup games at all?

Twilight hack + 4.0 system menu = FAIL
Any homebrew disc(like WAD Manager) + 4.0 system menu via nintendo update = FAIL

then you have cioscorp installed and should be able to use savemiifrii + autoboot wadmanager without a modchip

The problem is I can't seem to get that SaveMiiFrii to work... I mean, I plug the controller in the 4th port, hold down all buttons on the D-Pad, and turn the Wii on. A few seconds later, the Health and Safety screen appears. I hold it just a bit longer and then it goes to the system menu with a black screen. The "going-into" menu sound plays, but no menu.
I try it again.
And it's just the same thing.
I've been trying for, like an hour already. Maybe it's the controller, I don't know.

Yeah, thats kinda why I try not to recommend making channels to people who aren't knowledgeable about how to recover the Wii.

alright, here is what to try.


take apart your gc controller, it is much easier to hold down all 4 dpad buttons when just using the rubber thing underneath.

also remember, the 4th gc slot is the one closest to the memory card slots. I get that confused sometimes, lol.

Yeah. My GC controller's actually 3rd party and it lets me hold down all D-Pad buttons at the same time. And besides, I already tried disassembling it. And it's still a no-go. It's as if my GC controller's broken or something. [And yet, I just bought it today.]

Yeah. I know where it is. It's actually marked on the Wii, you know.

With tiny dots.

hmm....try to get a hold of a first party controller from someone. I have to wonder if the 3rd party one limits how many buttons can be pressed at one shot.

That should hopefully work, unless system menu 4.0 removed the savemefrii function too. The premade recovery iso's with cioscorps should boot, just like a modchip would. If no savemefrii, maybe a real savemii will work.
