Hacking Banned ps4 and modding

Hello everyone,

I am thinking about purchasing a banned UK(I live in Canada, not that it matters) ps4 from ebay and I was wondering if it is possible to mod it/play "backups"/ install homebrew apps, providing that this ps4 is on 4.55 or older to begin with. I am not too familiar with the ps4 scene. I apologize if this has been asked already.Thank you.

The console being banned or not won't affect whether it's exploitable or not. If it's on 4.55 or below, then you are fine. I would make sure it's on the right firmware before buying it though. Unless you are ok with the possibility of it being on a higher firmware.
