Hello there!
I got a JPN o3DS years ago with a possible bad 3D slider, and wanted to get it fixed. I can do the repair myself, so to rule out the 3D slider not latching on the mechanism I opened it up, and it's latched on right. The issue I have is the slider is always in 3D mode, and no matter the position it doesn't make change the depth, or do anything. I'm wondering what could be the culprit here, so I can replace it myself.

Thanks,

MattTheTekie

Is this the right place to ask?
Yes it is.

Could be the slider (internal) that is bad.
Could be the loudspeaker/3D ribbon cable going from motherboard to upper screen assembly tearing.

Hard to tell. Not an easy part to reach. If you are confident you could simply order a new cable and replace it.

How can a slider go bad? Is it not just a pyshical switch, or does it tie to a PCB electronically. I know the outside grey bit is tacked into the inside switch.
