Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

hey, I missed something along the way (and I've read most of this 83 page thread LoL). so is that file you just linked to a special version of wiigator's backup launcher that doesn't need the hook set? it's not the channel version, is it (I love the ease of the channel versions!)

I downloaded the cios_fix. Do I need to use the WAD for my previous CIOS install and uninstall that first, or will this cios_fix update it automatically?

Or how about a more important question... is it worth it? All the games I have currently already work. The read speed is the only issue that prevents me from playing some games and from what I've heard, that hasn't been resolved yet.

Yes it works but you have to set the hook type to gc pad in the options

well, Trauma Center SO PAL dont work on Wiigators backup launcher 0.1 with cios fix installed even if i set the hook type to gc pad. The game was working before cios fix install.
however, the game work on Waninkoko loader.

if all of your games work for now you dont need to install this fix.

No its not a channel - but i have asked for someone to make it into one , or show me how to do it cause id make one if i could figure out how , but just starting to research it now so i dont want to ask too much until i have looked up a few things.

Thats a DOL file that pcc_gba made which means its basically a boot loader. I think its wiigators loader but with the settings preset to use GB Pad so you just need to click on Load Game. Put it into your ISO loader folder and rename it to boot.dol and it should work as a normal loader.

If anyone out there can make a channel can you contact me - id like to find out how its done and failing that , if your willing to make one can you use the images from a few pages back ? I can link someone to anything they need.

nope, it's just the same cIOS249 with a fix that changes some kind of address because of....don't know what....but it works, and now the launcher has more compatibility

use it with waninkoko's, or with wiigator's (change Hook-Type to GC pad) or using the last .dol posted a few centimeters above this...!!!

u should also be able to uninstall the 249cios with the cios uninstaller.
if you want to uninstall through wad manager U have to choose the wad you want to remove and press '-' on your wiimote.

EDIT - God, can't believe this! The CIOS_Fix actually FIXED WarioWare crashes on some stages/extras! Many thanks, keep up the good work!

with the cIOS fix endless ocean works for 0.1 but not for wiigators, flashes green and then stays solid black,. The only noticable lag is when you first start a level, other than that the game is really fast, and relaxing...

i want to share my opinion with you all first i think that waninkoko should release his work to the public i mean its about time he forgets to what happened to his loader and move on i think he should release to the public let them test it out and see if there is any problems with it.

Second when wiigator started this project he released open source to everyone plus he released the loader as well, now he is trying to get another version out 0.2m he even gave out to people for testing purpose to few people now he did mentioned on not to release it no one and what happened it did not get leaked on the forums or anywhere else the version 2 so my point is that waninkoko needs to move on and help the community to get a better backup loader maybe he could even work with wiigator and release stuff. Where ever your at waninkoko i want you to read my post and forget what happened in the past and move on and help the community i mean i think you can trust GBA people they helped wiigator out and maybe you want to help us out and we will help you back

So think about it waninkoko and i want you to reply to my post and i also want hear your guys opinion as well.

I completely agree. I mean we are all pirates and a good deal of us know a little bit about coding and a lot about the loaders. I am kinda irritated when people think they have something to gain by not making there stuff completely open source; it helps out everybody that way.

So think about it waninkoko and i want you to reply to my post and i also want hear your guys opinion as well.

I think it would be awesome for them to release betas and such for public testing but ultimately it's their software written on their time. Maybe they don't want the exact methods and addresses they're using known until it's ready. Maybe they don't want a thousand half-working versions out on the web for people to pester them about (see all the feedback on these two betas?). Or, maybe they're following the path that Team Tweezers/Blizzard/other companies take and just "releasing it when it's done". On top of that, we don't know that waninkoko is ever going to release anything again related to this.

Whatever the reason, these guys are essentially programming for free and as much as we'd like to we have no justification at all to complain about it. It'll come when it comes, and if it doesn't be glad the source code is out so others can build on their work.

Go to the Wad manager, and uninstall it there.

Also, I think Waninkoko was never planning to release his loader to the public. That's why he got all mad when it was leaked.
