Hi there^^

I'm currently working on a translation patch for Inazuma Eleven Strikers and our team decided to sub the Opening for it. The bad thing is that the opening ist saved as a .mo file, a file extension that anyone knows in our team. Does somebody here knows how to convert an avi movie to it?

They should be Mobiclip movies.

Opening the file in a hex editor should be able to tell you if that's the case, and which version. The first four bytes of a mobiclip file should be MOCn (where n is the version number, between 2 and 5).

The Wii+Internet Channel and the WM+ tutorial on game DVDs both use v5 (MOC5 header). Mobiclip is also sometimes used for video in DS ROMs.

AFAIK no publicly available convertor exists for the MOC5 format used on Wii.

For the interested:

Mobiclip movies require two steps to make from an AVI: First you encode the AVI with VirtualDub using a special codec and save a new AVI. Then you run the resulting encoded AVI through a tool called MoCoderAVI to make the .MO. That tool is different for each version of Mobiclip. Versions that produce MOC2 and MOC3 .MO files are around, but I can't locate tools for MOC4 and MOC5.

MOC2 and MOC3 format .MO files do not play on Wii.
