Name of the finished .wad looks like you said, just the wrong size.

Original pokemon.wad 29,673KB Output using Bomberman64 29,789KB.
mine is doing the same thing, i have the common-key in C:\Documents and Settings\user\.wii and the common-key.bin in the same directory as the injectuwad files. i get no errors when injecting roms, but the size of the finished file is all wrong. ex:ssb in sin.wad is 242kb and when installing the wads i get the ticket error 4100.

Works for me.

PAL-Users:
injector.ini -> region=2
Use PAL SIN.wad and PAL N64ROM.

May solve some problems.

I'm not sure about region free? Can we use US-ROMs on our PAL-Wii?

I'm winding up with a "Smashbros in SIN.wad" (or something similar) that is only 242 kb.

When I run injectuwad normally: I find these other files are created (title.tmd; etc.) that I assume the auto-injector deletes after use. I'm almost certain the problem is wadpacker. I just now noticed that the 242 kb .wad is the same size as the title.wad that is also created. Hmm... (wadpacker gives me some kind of error about 00000100.app not being found or something. Why on earth is it even looking for something like that?)

EDIT: Okay, using Pokemon Snap instead of S & P gets me a fully sized .wad. Glad that's fixed. Now all I have to do is fix the -4100 error upon trying to install

Everyone getting ticket error 4100. Pm me for the right common-key.bin

Seems like some people are using the wrong key

I just tried Super Smash Bros into SIN and it did everything right for me...

Damn, I just realized that I haven't implemented a "Rom won't fit into wad" protection to my program. So if anyone is trying to inject a rom to a wad that is too small, then the program will freeze up and crash.

Well that will be in the next version.

Thanks for the advice about the .ini, But my results for Bomberman64 in Pokemon Snap were the same.

What´s even wierder is I just tried putting Aladdin into DKC2, using the exact same procedure (just in SNES mode), and got a .wad that was only 6KB!!

Do the Host wads have to have a specific name, or can I name them whatever I choose?

Might try some others out here. I´m a PAL user. Any suggestions for what games to use.

I think I´ve only got NTSC SNES roms, but I do have PAL N64 Roms.

(edit)Won´t the program crash at the very beginning if your .bin is wrong!

if not I´ll be sending you a PM

If the user doesn't have common-key.bin in their folder I made it not start and display a message "Make sure you have common-key.bin"

I didn't make it detect if it was the right common-key.bin though. There is only so much I can do with common-key.bin in my program because common-key.bin is illegal. Otherwise it would have came with the program.

@Nightstalker
Maybe you can also add a region button which changes the ini? And a warning message box which regions roms have to be used or include the "freethewads".

Is this still using kike wadpacker? Kike wadpacker screws up the ticker really bad, you can see the difference with ultraedit, so it would be better if it uses wadtool to repack the wads.

Yes kike wadpacker. Thats interesting, I'll have to talk to creffca about that. (he is at work now)

I think this may fix my problem. How do you pack the wad in wadtool?

still low compatability though......

great job on the program though, best one i have used, no problems to report for me, other than all the games i have tryed dont work yet, but il keep tryin

Then it could just be a case of a faulty .wad or something. I've had lots of troubles installing N64 games; I'd have to try a number of times re-downloading the .wad, re-unRar-ing it, and re-copying it to my SD card-- Ocarina of Time took FOREVER to install correctly. But I never got a -4100 from a faulty .wad-- it might be the common-key that is giving me a problem. It's strange, though. The key.bin that was used for my Trucha signer worked; I renamed it to common-key and injectuwad seemed to like it (the first common-key it didn't like-- it told me to find another, which I did), so I'm wondering just how easy it is to mess up a string of hex... Well, whether it's correct or not, I PM'd you to make sure I have the correct one.

EDITL Also: I was curious. I've never seen a program (visual-wise) quite like yours, Night. What language did you program it in?

Just wanted to stop in say how pleased I am with Nightstalker's application. I had planned to write my own GUI, but when he sent me a preview of this version I decided to back his app instead. It has a great layout and even more user-error protection than injectuwad alone.

He used a common language used to make dialog box applications, but it looks different visual-wise because of his own design (which is surprisingly intuitive).
