Thank you Nintendo Australia!

When the Wii is released here on December 7th we get our Wii Sports in a proper Wii game case, not to mention our wiimotes and nunchucks don't come in blister packs!

Perhaps Europe will also get a proper case too?

This is great news, I happen to land in Melbourne for launch.
Great to see Wii Sports in a case, much more official looking and now looks like an actual retail game, not a demo.
Our packaging is way better than the US (those blister packs are cheap, and you know it), I wonder if JP differs from US or AU.

here is a question regarding region encoding. do we aussies get our own region code or are we using the same as US?

I want to know cause I can buy games in HK and bring it back.
Go HK for getting both US and JP versions of Wii.

You are usually PAL the same as Europe.

That's not a region code, that's a video picture format...

Most of Europe is Region 2, and Australia is Region 4, I believe... That's what he meant.

Many retail discs (DVDs, games) are region-locked so people are deterred from importing overseas discs.

In response to your question, kelvinate... I'm not 100% sure on that, but it's a safe bet that your Wii discs will be region 4 and not region 1
