You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how emunand in general works
I know how it works. I just stated that because with the hdd support wiiu didnt need emunand if you just wanted free games. Im doing emunand on my switch because portable homebrew and mods just like the 3ds. And I want to support the switch. So to play games i will need an emunand if the sysnand is too low on fw version. Basically i was just asking for insight. It derailed the topic. Sorry

See my edit, I didn't mean to come off as snarky, I just didn't have time to type everything out

Also I didn't understand what you meant about the hard drive thing, that makes a lot more sense than what I imagined you were talking about

I didn't think you were being snarky at all lol. Why people cant have normal conversation on this forum without conflict mystifies me. Lol. And thanks for the insight! I learned alot just by reading your edit.

It's an age thing. There is a large demographic of entitled teens on this site. Fact.

I'm confused, is the CFW available for install on 4.1 systems? Also are there some instructions somewhere on the Web for that?

It will work with 4.1, but it's currently still being developed. Also at release it will initially support 1.0.0, then later 2.x-3.0, and finally 3.x-4.1.0.

If a functional emuNAND solution is included in the initial release of Atmosphere NX, then yes, you will be able to play newer games without updating your Switch's sysNAND.
If it goes like 3DS, each new update you can't just update the console, a few work is needed before we could update or gateway wouldn't work, and we are all sure that nintendo Will keep making it harder to have emunand kept on the latest available FW...

I think TX solution will probably keep the console updated easier than by software...

Gateway is a poor example. It lacked any sort of real support, and it required updates for each 3DS system version release in part because of the nature of its ROM-selection menu. Comparing Switch CFW to Luma3DS is a better comparison than comparing it to Gateway.

Atmosphere NX will likely require updates for emuNAND-compatibility every now and then when new Switch versions are released, but not all Switch updates will be as significant as 5.0.0, and Atmosphere NX is open-source.

Yeah but as soon as a emunand appears I'm sure Nintendo will launch a new update right away, I'm thinking TX solution will have an edge if they really care to support it...

Anyway, @SciresM can you PLZ add a screen calibration feature on the CFW? I wanted the white balance with more blue to look more pure white than warm white.

The TX solution would also have the same problem. The hardmod only gets you into the system, but it will still use a cfw. In fact if they are planning on trying to open up piracy their cfw implementation will likely break more often than atmosphere-nx due to the much more complicated nature of getting everything patched to do that.
Edit: corrected a few things because my phone swype is garbage

Same here Android keyboard correction is a joke, when I read my posts it changes so much words, I prefer PC Firefox where it highlights errors in red instead...

But on the TX solution at least if the system bricks or some crazy shit happens it will most likely have a easier way to unbrick with the magic black smoke inside the chip :)

Edit: Hell Hwho knows if the chip might even help ppl fixing current Switch bricks which might got a corrupted nand and the chip may be able to flash a recovery FW on those, but it might also be other hardware problem;).

You wont be hard bricking with an emuNAND though. That's one of the reasons to use emuNAND

Yeah, but I wonder where it will be loaded this time... M-SD will probably be too slow to run the system + games. I hope someone could make like a cartridge with fast nand memory built in, the emunand inside and the games being able to load from main faster memory chip + M-SD just for games alone.

Also who knows If TX will put a fast band on their chip with the emunand inside, that will give another edge to TX, awesome would be dual super fast nands and forget the main console nand...

Anyway, does anyone know if there's anyway to adjust Switch LCD white balance??? Hope SciresM and TX add that option, I want whiter white :)

Why would the M-SD card likely be to slow?

If everything is loaded from the Micro SD emunand+games I think it will be slow...

On 3DS I have a big difference in the performance of the emunand on the SD from the real nand, sure the console doesn't have much read speed, but, though Nintendo Switch can read a lot faster from the M-SD, it's also a huge powerful system with top performance games which are also far from 3DS games.

As tested the internal Switch memory is way faster and loads games faster too, incredibly games downloaded online on a good M-SD run faster than the game from official cartridge which is the slowest to load.

But after loading the full system from M-SD I'm thinking that it will probably also affect performance a lot specially cashing on it...

I never saw any noticeable difference between sysNAND and emuNAND on 3ds. At worst you would see slightly increased load times, but it wouldn't affect anything else.

Yep, it takes a bit of time 4 mine to load all the icons on the menu even things from the console it self sometimes take a bit to load...

System nand 4 me is instantaneous even though it's on a very low FW.

But I'm thinking what if a new partition is possible to be made on the main storage just for the emunand?

Also SD is not much good for high usage, they die quickly, I have a few dead M-SD. I'm currently using a A1 classe on my Nvidia shield, this class is for more usage specially as internal storage for Android and it's fast...

All my class 10 after using as internal storage, My Nvidia Shield tablet seems like it turns into a dual core with 512MB of ram super lagged even without anything running. Android went in a bad direction of encrypting it like a crap specially on 64GB cards that makes it super slow after using SD as internal storage.

Firstly you keep talking about adding nands, custom nands or modifying/formatting nand. All of which are either actually impossible or won't work without bootrom.
And second, if you have a decent SD card 3ds emuNAND doesn't have any problem or slowdown with loading anything. Never experienced this slow loading you speak of when I used emuNAND for over a year.
