you have no idea what you're talking about lmfao
U sure about that? What are you going to be able to do that you can't already? emunand..maybe online. But the inital release isn't going to have backups. That's what i'm getting at. Someone is going to have to fork atmosphere and add it later. So inital release u will be able to use HBL...emunand/online maybe...But maybe A few features here and their...But what I meant by that is no backup loader. So what is being released isn't what most people will have installed in the long run. We will all be using A fork with A backup loader. But again..I think people might be A little let down with what is initially released and might be let down at first. I know i'm not terribly excited about atmosphere and it's release. I'm thinking the eventual fork is what i'll be excited about. Who knows emunand might not even keep you from being banned online. Who knows at this point.

Only 25? You mean you didn't buy a warehouse specifically to stockpile 200 switches for homebrew?
Plot twist. He's secretly a Nintendo sales tricking us into buying more switch.

But back to topic...

I'm honestly with the side of those people who states that emunand is still important. But for people like me who doesn't mind doing a few more steps (RCM and all) just to enter CFW, I will be staying to sysnand because 1. To save the space the emunand will consume, 2. I remember in the 3ds there's a few second slow down with boot-up and such in emunand, and 3. we have a bootrom exploit, we just need a proper nand backup and we're all set even if we brick, it's easily fixable.

But for the majority, especially on those dumb enough not keeping a backup, emunand is the way to go.

I’m amazed that some people consider a second Switch just a casual purchase.

Can I afford a second Switch? Sure, I probably have the money. But with a family, 2 kids, bills to pay, food to put on the table etc., a second Switch isn’t remotely a justifiable purchase.

It totally is. Honey 2 kids 2 switches makes sense lol

Switch isn't that expensive, but that only applies to markets where nintendo is present. Here in Brazil it costs about 310.00 dollars, while the minimum wage is about the same. Most people who have Switches in South America normally buy it in installments (a common practice here), so buying a SECOND ONE just for hacks is kinda nuts.

Yeah im in Australia its still $479.99 with a game here. I bought mine second hand for $350 a month after release when the neon set was sold out and people were bummed lol. Just wait for your chance for a 2nd hand console. You always need backup consoles in my experience.

Ive used homebrew on pretty much all my consoles to date(Wii,3DS,PSP,Wii U) without needing to buy 2. For me the whole idea of having a switch is being able to take it around portably. If your going to own 2 Nintendo Switches half the benefits go down the drain as your carrying 2 tablets around with 2 carry cases.
I totally respect wanting to have a 2nd switch if thats what makes you comfortable, however you definitely don't "need" 2, not if your an end user. I personally find the idea of having to lug around 2 tablets for different purposes a waste of space and money, you might aswell buy a windows tablet and a switch, at least you own 2 different items that can suit different needs. Im aus aswell btw, and like him i find buying a second hand tablet because your paranoid of what may or may not happen in the future pretty insane ;). However thats just my opinion.

It's already been pointed out to you that a backup loader will be fairly trivial to create once Atmosphere is out, so the time time between the two won't be long at all.

I've never once needed to buy more than one console nor handheld.

My psx died bought a replacement. My ps2 died bought a replacement. My xbox 360 died bought a

Sorry bought a replacement. Once you have a spare console its open to repairing and modding etc
Bought 3 x 3DSs and modded them and gave to my niece and nephews for Christmas. Was Wii's Christmas before. And will be ps vita this Christmas.
If you mod a lot of consoles people end up giving you consoles and you end up with a lot of spares.

Welcome to the modding scene junior lol
Why the hell would you carry 2 consoles at the same time. Who would suggest such a thing.
Although if you have 2 consoles you have more controllers. I don't have 2 switches but i also have no intention of going online so no worries about being banned etc so therefore no need for a 2nd console yet

Well as i see it, even if someone wants to go online the logic course of action would be
hack switch->go online->get banned->buy new switch only to play online
what is the point of fixing a problem that hasn't happened yet? hell, may be if some one go whit care, they avoid getting banned alltogether and dont have to buy more systems, and in case of the worst happens, then at that point, buying a new one would be either cheaper or there would be better versions.
Sorry if i don't see your point, but buying two systems in case one got damaged, seems to me like starting to build a house whit the roof or puting the carriage in front of the horse.
That said, if it makes sense for you, then i respect it, everyone do what they want whit their money after all. :)

That is what you implied man, buying one for modding and other for playing, is in essence the same as buying a replacement console.
in case you buy one to each thing the modding console is at the same risk of getting damaged as if you was playing games on it too,
Replacement console case
if it breaks, you just switch to the replacement and play there, but no modding, and in the future you may buy another for modding
Separate function case
If the modding one breaksm, you still play games on the other one whitout modding, and in the future you may buy another for modding
-
Is the same in the end, the modding or modding/playing console gets breaks and you use the other to play only games after that.
