I am still on 4.1.0 but I have the annoying update nag coming once and again... I hope that won't be a problem later.
Remove the update in safe mode, then remove your internet settings so it doesn't redownload the update.

Then my Switch carts can identify themselves as CDs.
You win the internet.

EDIT: Oh wait... not 10 minutes and the thread is going off-topic again... called it...
Let's show some restraint please.

Can't wait for Atmosphere to come out on a system I don't own yet. Props to creator.

Take your SJW nonsense elsewhere.
If you don't have a Switch yet but plan on getting one eventually, it is recommended that you get one sooner rather than later. You want it to be on 4.1 or lower, and you want to get one before the hardware revisions that block a lot of important exploits are silently released to market.

Thats my next console. How do I check for firmware for brand new boxed systems?

See the above post on comparing the serial number to the spreadsheet. My understanding is that 5.0.0 consoles are not in the wild yet, and if they are, they are rare. Also, 5.0.0-5.0.1 will be hackable this summer, but the method will be relatively inconvenient.

So Wii U CFW installation is pretty short if you choose not to add CBHC, from what I remember. Luma CFW on 3DS, if I recall correctly, can take up to 4 hours if you're being extra careful. (Before we got the simplified tutorial) Might just be my personal experience. I wonder how long the process of installing Switch CFW might take. I know it will probably vary drastically, depending on what OFW you're on, just like the 3DS.
I think it'll be cool to see how this project is handled, and what all will be implemented.
Also, didn't the N3DS have a clock feature or something like that? With the Switch's GPU being underclocked, I wonder if it can be overclocked through CFW so that we can emulate more power demanding games. I think this will have a lot of potential gaining more and more by the years.

If I recall, the Switch underclocks it self out of the dock, to help with battery life. We can have dock mode cpu/gpu power outside of the dock, maybe, and kill our already shitty Switch battery even more! :D

The point in maintaining full dock clocks on portable is not that...

The point is you buying a cheap 20000mah power bank that can keep the Switch at full clocks and not charge it's battery, but instead actually power the whole Switch so it must output similar power as the charger...

That's not much difficult, my lipos 4 example can discharge more than a hundred amps in burst and a huge amount of A constantly... I can make a custom power bank with as much voltage output as I want...

And those high output USB C power banks with Power Delivery will probably do the trick.

Also I mostly take my Switch to a local bar, they have power outlets there so I could just connect the official charger and play there with full graphics with battery always at 100%.

I never even took the dockstation out of the box neither I care... And in a bar I can use the charger, but I would never connect it to their TV, so I would love having full graphics portable on the Switch screen...

Just a thought, but with CFW could we potentially see the use of using actual bluetooth headphones (like airpods, jaybirds, etc) with the switch? that would be amazing :))

I prefer the option of Bluetooth OFF all battery for gaming instead :)

I also never tried the controllers wirelessly other than the first setup, but I wonder what wastes more battery joy-cons using switch battery or Bluetooth being on with joy-cons wirelessly?

Joycon using Switch battery, since Bluetooth still stays on, unless you're in airplane mode

So is that a yes or a no?? haha seems like people want to save battery but in that case just use an external battery bank and have full bluetooth

i wanna use my airpods with my switch

Battery life is one thing. Overheating is another problem. A handheld console have many components crammed into 1 place. It doesn't have the option to add extra cooling. Overdoing overlocking may risk killing the console life span itself.
