QUOTE said:In what will surely challenge their own Asteroids for the title of Most Inane Choice for a Videogame Film Adaptation, the LA Times now reports that Atari is currently "in active discussions" with film studios to convince them acquiring Missile Command for a film adaptation is a good idea, too.
Evidently the property is likely to end up at Fox, and the film would almost certainly be shot in 3D. Answering the bigger question of how the hell you would make a movie out of a game entirely about shooting missiles at bigger incoming missiles, however, has not yet been addressed.
Then again, if a studio can take Asteroids and turn it into (according to the film's producer) "two lead characters -- two brothers -- who have to go through a seminal experience to figure out their relationship, against this huge backdrop," then we suppose anything's possible in this crazy awesome world we live in.
