psycoblaster, may I ask why isn't this thread on the Index of Translations?
I'm not imposing something of stuff like that, I'm just wondering if there's a peculiar reason :>

Sheesh, you people sure have a funny way of being polite. I'll add it right now. Just letting you know, I took up the Index as a "hobby" of sorts, NOT a job.

awesome man! lookin forward to when this is finished

I honestly don't understand why this game was rated so low in Japan... It's really awesome, graphics are 10 times better than the ones of FFIV FMV... that means a lot. I've just watched a scene of the game that gave me the chills because it was done so well. The gameplay too is really fun and nice... battle system reminds me of Etrian Odyssey (the fight in itself) while moving on the field is like Fire Emblem (I played only the one on DS). And both those two games are masterpieces... Really this game deserves to be played by every RPG fan out there in my opinion...

EDIT: That's why I'm trying to rush through the whole game and test everything as soon as I can at the best of my skills.. I want this to be released as soon as possible.

I don't think it was rated THAT lowly... I mean, Famitsu gave it 33/40 didn't they? That's a pretty good score. Then again, some people choose to disregard Famitsu as a reliable source for gaming reviews, and I suppose other sources may have given it a much lower score (based on their scoring scheme used in the reviews they write). So I probably should shut up now. xD

In any case, this patch is looking awesome - I can't wait to play the finished product. You guys rule. ^^

It's not about how much it was rated.. it's about the fact that people could buy it in stores at less than 19$ after 2 months the game came out (in Japan games cost around 50-70$ -the cheap ones-) or so I was told.. but I may be wrong here...

Though, those lazy asses don't feel like porting it to USA... Too bad we have psycoblaster to pwn them all

I haven't even started beta testing, gotta finish TWEWY first

Go start testing it you lazy ass! XP I'm already at chapter 9 and still going on! I don't understand how you can say "I'd rather play TWEWY"... I had to beg psyco to get into this project as a tester and as soon as I got the patch I started testing everything non-stop XP I just love this game now...

Yeah, I know! That's why I was asking psycoblaster here and not you in the Index of Translations, lol.

You don't have the obligation to check this forum all the time for new translation projects, I didn't do it either. I just thought most project starters would eventually begin to tell on the IoT whenever they started a new translation project or updated a patch, as a manner to help... but I guess that didn't catch up yet, unfortunately

Hm... so the reason why we don't have a public patch is because Noity is too busy playing TWEWY...? *gets torches and pitchforks ready*

Nah, lol.. There's still a lot to get translated.. like item descriptions, some mission objectives, skill descriptions, some skill names... and some hidden text/tutorial... We beta testers so far are just testing the script (as in playing the main game) checking if there are typos or graphical issues or bugs... the game's still far from getting a perfect translation though... For more info just read psycoblaster's blog

There are more 3 guys already, my beta testing won't make much of a difference, I wasn't such a hardcore fan of the game to begin with but I have to help Psyco
tongue.gif

And I think I'll be finished with TWEWY this week...

Oh wait, there are the secret reports too

Edit: OK, I'll start beta testing already.

Or I'll start my new blog...

Lol I was just kidding

So far anyways there's only me testing it and psyco sometimes replays some parts to test if it works (or so I have heard).. it's not a problem though because I just have to play the game (I'm enjoying this lol) and see if there are grammatical mistakes... the hard part comes at the end when we'll have to hunt down hidden untranslated crap or replay everything to see if it works... XP

I'll leave the replaying part to you, I'll just play the game and suggest better translations of fix grammatical errors

By the way, Psycoblaster the patching solution sucks >_> at least include a .bat that takes care of the patching ala "drop rom here.bat"

Argh you lazy, I guess I'll have to do the dirty job...

and yeah, that patching thing is annoying... I had troubles at first running it on linux because he forgot to say that I had to use the patch command with xdelta (I had never used it before so it took me a while to figure it out... I thought it was my machine that couldn't run the .exe under wine...)

Wow, I can't believe that you got so far in translating this.
I've wanted to play this game since it came out, and I did play it (the 1st mission) but I stopped because of language barriers.
Props to you!!!

OK, cleaning stuff up...
I didn't leave the bat in, because it's really not that hard to patch.
Just dragging few files in cmd. It's my fault i left the "patch" command out in the directions (I'm really sorry
tongue.gif
)
But I knew you guys were intelligent enough the figure it out
biggrin.gif

Morgawr told me he was gonna play through, and I'm doing the replaying right after I made my edits.
Also, he is uploading the save files (which I requested) for each chapter, so replaying isn't too hard.

I'm currently building a program that would help me calculate the length of the text, so dealing with descriptions would be easier.

Noitora is always lazy as hell, but he can get serious sometimes

Hm, well, sounds like you are struggling for beta testers who are willing to work. I suppoooose I could have a look at it. And being an A Level English Lit student, I could be quite helpful in determining proper sentence structure, punctuation and all the little details of the English language that are quite difficult to master.
Any chance of beta testing? I'm quite keen to make sure it's all polished up on the language front
