Homebrew ARM9Loader -- Technical Details and Discussion

This guy right here.
Fair warning, I DID error on my first downgrade and landed myself a nice brick, but that was on emuNAND, so it was fine.
I then followed the first edition of the guide and downgraded sysNAND directly, which I really don't recommend.
The second edition is much better.

Any luck with the second edition of the OTP guide?

Yeah actually I figured out the problem was actually. It was that there was a really rare group of people that would error out while downgrading if they were on 9.2.

Put it in a folder inside the "3ds" folder. Then open it through HBL (while in your sysNAND).

Boot sysnand and load arm9loaderhax.3dsx with your OTP,firm0,firm1,sector,stage0x5C000, and arm9loaderhax.bin (payload) on the root of your SD

You have to download that elsewhere. It's a payload. Once you install Arm9LoaderHax, you will no longer be able to boot your 3DS without a payload.

It seems like only need 3dsx in 3ds and paylaod in root.

Make sure you setup Cakes prior to installing Arm9LoaderHax. If it's too late, use AuReiNand (mod) instead.

When you first run arm9loaderhax.3dsx it installs those files to your Sysnand.

Well, you're installing it as a Homebrew app, which should go in the 3ds folder. That's what I did at least.

I did this with only 3dsx file and it worked. And this does make sense since 3dsx is just a little bit bigger then sum of all of those files.

so just needs arm9loaderhax.bin on root and nothing else ?
