It seems like ftpd doesn't support with new firmware, I also tried to search in GBATEmp, Google and couldn't find anything. I also checked switchbrew.org and I think the website's been abandoned so the information is not up to date, so is there any new homebrew that I'm not aware of? basically I just want to edit save, transfer saves back and forth between my computer <<==>> Nintendo Switch without removing micro sd card.

FTPD works on 5.1.0 and lower, you just can't move things from your switch to PC, which is a huge problem

I'm on 5.1.0 and I can copy things from my switch to the PC
I used Filezilla to connect to the switch.
I'm on 5.1.0 as well, but filezilla just leaves me with an empty folder

Edit: Ignore this, it works just fine

If possible, you're better off using memloader. Memloader with ums_sd.ini allows you to basically use your Switch as a microSD card reader plugged into your computer. By not constantly ejecting your microSD card, you will be saving on wear on both the microSD card as well as the Switch's reader.

I've heard different stories about things getting corrupted using ftpd on the Switch, and it's not worth the risk for me.

What are you talking about? I can move files to and from my switch/pc just fine.
I guess I must have done it incorrectly last time, it's working now. Sorry about that bit of misinformation there

All i get is: stat license-request.dat : no such file or directory. :(
Using latest fw and really clueless since never had problems using filezilla. Should i configure filezilla or ftpd to make it work?

I've been getting this too and the other threads were less than helpful. Someone just said Well just don't use SX OS without a license then...

Anyway, I think the best advice I got (though I haven't tried it yet) was to reformat the card? If anyone else has a better idea I'd be down with hearing it.

reformat the card?

Well, the card is brand new and recently formatted where everything otherwise works perfect. And nope, i never use cheap msd-cards.

So if more people wants a working ftp for 5.1 then we just have to wait. And i have no problem with waiting since people developing software like that do it for the right reason. :grog:
Who knows, perhaps Team Xecuter will release a better, "borrowed" version in future updates.

Thanks for your input hamrawk!

For MAC users: OS-X creates a hidden ".license_request.dat" file on the root of the sd card that causes FTPd to not function properly. You have to remove that file, otherwise a format will suffice. To attempt to remove it, open terminal and type "dot_clean " (make sure you keep the space after the n) then drag the sd card into terminal and press Return.

You can try this version of FTPd as it has been modified to allow large file transfers without crashing errors:
See this post

Also, make sure FileZilla is setup to transfer in Binary Mode and not ASCII.

I've been using Windows file explorer for ftp and it works just fine to and from switch to pc. Windows has built in ftp.

I have an update for anyone experiencing the "stat '/license-request.dat' : 2 No such file or directory" issue. Try scanning your microSD card from your PC and repairing any errors.

I've been transferring files manually all day and randomly my PC decides to tell me there's an error with the drive LONG after I started having issues with FTP. I thought, alright sure, scan - repair. Cool. Kept doing normal homebrew stuff. Then it hit me that this rando file everyone keeps talking about was probably the source of the corruption. Even now for all I know it might not have been, but one of the next things I tried was FTPD and it just works out of the blue... So... Maybe an alternative to formatting the entire drive is to just repair the drive.

I'd love to hear if this works consistently with anyone else experiencing the issue.

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.
