I read that the ak2i has support for updating firmware through wifi. Does the regular ak2 has that option aswell with the latest firmware?
I have a nds lite and not shure which one to shoose. The regular ak2 is cheaper and comes with a micro sd card reader.

    From Where???
    akaio runs on both kits.

read the akaio wiki to see what features it offers.

the answer to your topic heading is that the ak2i boots in ds mode on the dsi, as well as the nds. the ak2/2.1 only boots on the nds.

Buy the Acekard 2.1 if you have a DS Lite.

I bought the Acekard 2i because on my country you can't find Acekard 2.1, they only sell 2i. And the only reason they have it in stock is to bundle it with the DSi.

Btw, IMHO updating firmware via PC is still the better way.
