I was wondering because i was going to get the game off the psn store.

Seconded, the only way to get it online is either adhoc2usb or pro online client

The game was never online based other than local multiplayer. However if you have a PS3 and AdHoc Party you will be able to play this game with other people online utilizing the ps3 or as stated by another member adhoc2usb or the pro online client
