Is AppMigrate capable of transferring settings between 32bit and 64bit systems?

Yes, absolutely.

I have tried it between a 64 bit computer (Windows 8) and a 32 bit Virtual machine (Windows XP). It works just fine.

However, the following scenario might cause issues *for registry settings only*:
- you have the 32 bit version of an application on your PC #1
- you export its settings
- you install the 64 bit version on PC #2
- you import settings from PC #1
- registry data will be imported correctly, but it can't be read/found by the application, because 64-bit registry and 32-bit registry are in separate location (wow6432node or something)
Note: the opposite -64 bit to 32 bit- will work fine in any case.

The solution is to
- either install the same version of the app (keep 32 bit version, it's not a big deal unless you're going to handle over 4GB of RAM in that app)
- or export your registry settings from PC#1 manually, remove references to wow6432node, and import it into PC#2

Honestly I don't see this happening a lot, but yeah. If there is enough demand that could theoretically become an interesting feature in future versions.

Thanks Costello, appreciate your comprehensive reply.

Recently upgraded the cpu in my win7 notebook, and plan to upgrade the OS to Win7 64 bit when I can find time. I've got my fingers crossed that AppMigrate will save a lot of hassle.

Will let you know how it goes.

I do not know if you work on the site Costello, but you could create categories for applications in the "App Database", would make it easier to find other similar softwares.
And great software also testing here.

The worst is when its a dry poop, then you spend 20 minutes and ha!f a roll of TP wiping. Its like wiping TP over a magic marker, just won't stop showing.
