Hi, I had a replacement gameboy color lens arrive in the post this morning. Im a complete noob to replacing the lens. The instructions were to remove the white sticky back paper from the back. After peeling it off, im left with a sticky back along with a white square embedded into where the lens screen is. Ive tried peeling it at the corners but its as if its embedded inside. Did I forget to remove something else? Ive attached a photo of what it now looks like.

Could only see a white sticker covering the whole of the back. Peeled that off and are now left with a white square in the dead center which seems to be sandwiched inside the actual thing. I cant get at it to peel it away or remove it as shown in the photo.

Hmm.. can you send a picture of the back of the lens?

EDIT: you should peel of the back first, then place it on the gbc, and then remove the front sticker, if there is one.

that might be the front sticker, if you can peel it off don't yet! remove it after you sticked the lens on the gbc. also look if there is any dust or dirt on the screens before you place it on, or else it will be stuck under the screen.

Ok ive stickied the lens onto the gbc. I cant peel anything on the front though. Cant find any corners to lift. Its like the white square and the black border are all in one.

You can't!? that odd, since when I replaced mine i had to do that, did you completely remove the back sticker?

Crud, I see it now, the back sticker isn't removed completely, remove the lens carefully from the system and try too peel the white square part off.

All that was removed was the stickers shown in this attached pic on the back. The white square was then left there afterwwards. Whats strange is both sides of the square dont look like a sticker but more like the sheet that comes away from the sticker when you peel it.

Nevermind...Ive done it. That square needed peeling away from the back. Instead of coming away all in one it came away in bits. The remaining bit had stuck down hard thanks to the adhesive!

also, whats that behind the power led? is that the sticker too? id try to peel that back. sliding a tiny knife in there.

You're so close. You need to make the paper to bow out at the top. You'll be able to peel it off from just to the right or left of the top center. Get your knife handy. I just worked with this lens today for the first time.
