I keep seeing people say this, but I don't think it's brought at all.

I use delebile's version and i think the brightness level is 3. But yeah, it would be cool if we could set the brightness with a configuration file...

So I suppose I have to change this line (#define BRIGHTNESS 0x39) to #define BRIGHTNESS 0x00 in order to have a level 1 brightness?

OK, so I just recompiled with BRIGHTNESS 0x13 (39 divided by 3 = 13). And yeah, it seems it's 1 brightness level.
So I suppose:
-Level 1: 0x13
-Level 2: 0x26
-Level 3: 0x39
-Level 4: 0x4C
-Level 5: 0x5F

13*4 = 0x4C
13*5 = 0x5F
But the rest of what you said is correct
I wonder if other brightness levels than the normal 1-5 ones will work. Especially higher brightness levels (not that level 5 isn't high enough, except maybe in direct sunlight)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"

i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect

Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
- fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection) -

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.+1
