Since I consider the Vita to be the best handheld for VNs, partially due to the amazing OLED screen (currently playing Muv-Luv Alternative on it), I wonder if anyone is currently working on a translation insertion for Fate/Stay Night [Realta Nua] for the Vita. I came across some dead threads on some forums, but there was never any reason for why the projects died within a month or so. Any reason why the Vita version translation isn't a thing yet? Is it due to technical reasons? Or did just the interest in the VN die?

This is one of the two VN translations I’d love to see come to fruition, the other being Umineko. I assume inserting the existing translation isn’t 100% trivial, and would require a lot of time and dedication. So even if it’s completely doable, you’re going to need someone, or a team, willing to endure through months of work to do it. A ton of translation projects fall apart in the long run because real life catches up or they lose interest. I assume that’s what happened here, with these forum posts that made it seem like it was an active project until everyone stopped posting a year ago.

Then again, sometimes, a translation insertion comes out of nowhere. That’s pretty much what happened with Ever17 and Remember11 on PSP.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
