I think you need to set the DNS of Dolphin's networking config to 104.131.93.87 via the system menu and maybe the DNS of your computer itself to that as well.
You also need to apply this ocarina cheat code to every game you intend on running through it http://save-nintendo-wifi.com/wii-nossl-ocarina.txt

I'm pretty sure I've gotten this running in the past.

I can get it to dolphin to connect properly locally if I host the server in virtualbox but doesn't work if I try to run it on another machine on the same network. Do you know what might be the cause?
