Hacking Any way to safely go online to register and redeem a code on CFW?

Welp, I just bought Portal 2 and it has a code to download the PC version and in order to redeem the code I have to register the game disc with my PSN account and link that account to Steam, but the latest PS3 OFW is 4.83 and mine is on Rebug 4.81.1 CFW (iirc)

Is there any way I can safely go online to register the game without updating and losing CFW and trying to avoid as much as possible a ban?

Update to 4.82 CFW and use this:

Though regardless there is always a chance of a ban. Look into that thread for other peoples success. I don't think other tools have been updated yet to spoof to 4.83

Download SEN enabler. Use it to enable SEN access and then use Webman if you have it to disable syscalls in lvl2 memory and delete history, just to be safe. Then you can load the game/access the PSN store. Syscalls will be enabled again if you reboot your console so DW about not being able to use CFW functions such as backup loading.
