I want to play SSBB PAL on my Wii and it should be burned on a DVD5 and it should have movies.
Is that possible?

And if not, aren't the movies one of the most important things of the game? I don't want to miss them....

I don't think it is. However, you can try opening it with the Trucha Signer and delete a bunch of stuff... I don't think it's possible though.

The movies weren't that important to me. I have the original game, and while the cutscenes were enjoyable, they weren't anything special.

I'm thinking about buying the game, I really want to see some movies

The game requires a DVD9 because of the movies. You can't fit Game+Movies in a DVD5. Maybe if you remove the game, but I don't think the movies will run that way.

My downloaded version of DVD5 keeps showing me the video with ZS Samus and Pikachu...

Well just get the DVD9 version if the movies are so important to you, because as mentioned you cannot delete enough stuffs to make the movies fit into it

I'm thinking of it, but it's way more work offcourse.
I don't have DL DVD, and I can't download a 9GB file with my bandwidthlimit :'(

For download it says we have 10Mbit, but the max I ever got was around 500kb/s.
And I can download 36GB per month, but there is absolutely no place in our bandwidth to download 9GB.
We use the internet every day several hours with 4 people, and that way just surfing uses all our downloadlimit (and some YouTube movies...)
Honestly, downloading the 9GB's is not an option

I downloaded SSBB when it was released with my old 500kbps connection, and it was done in just 2-3 days! (24 hours per day, yes) But I don't have any bandwidth limit with my connection (the one I have, there are some that do have limits)

I burnt the DVD9 to a DVD9, but the disk didn't work very well, and the game asks for the disk during the cinematics.
Playing only multi-player (couldn't play SSE or finish Classic) for a while, till I found the DVD9 to DVD5 patcher (can be found here at GBATemp) and used it to burn a ripped DVD5 version. Works flawlessly.
Only the following movies can be found:
Intro
ZS Samus + Pikachu
1 or 2 other SSE movies.
Every single removed movie is replaced with the ZS Samus + Pikachu movie.

Just buy a DL somewhere, from someone (My GF had one lying around, so I could just take it)...
And have a (dutch) friend burn it for you, and send it by mail... it'll probably take a little longer, but it's cheaper then the actual game...

However, this game is buy-worthy...

@ ManZero: What are SSE Movies? And when it's usually a movie, what happens in the DVD5 game?

@ Wabsta: I'm doing that already with all the Wii games, it's just SSBB that is my problem game.

All the cinematics, showing the story of the SSE (Subspace Emissary).
With the ripped version, all those cinematics are replaced with one of the few cinematics that is on the first layer.

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

@Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?

@SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
