Hacking Question Any way to add a WiFi connection without going online?

Is RCM logged or is shorting pin 10 logged? It seems like the OS itself would have to do the logging, RCM probably doesn't know how to access the filesystem, nor does it even need the eMMC present.

I believe that booting from RCM is logged into the system

I assume you want to use Wifi to transfer files over FTP so you don't need to shut down and remove the MicroSD card all the time.

The obvious solution is to use a spare/second access point that isn't connected to internet. Configure it as an access point and connect both the Switch and your PC to that access point to transfer files. This is how I use FTP without going "online".

This is something you run on your computer that fakes the connection test so the switch accepts the connection, but doesn't resolve any dns requests to the outside internet.

But is it booting from RCM, or is it booting RCM, shutting down, and then booting normally also logged? Isn't the eMMC filesystem still encrypted at that point?

Booting FROM RCM, be it into OFW or CFW

So if you boot to RCM and dump the NAND, nothing is logged at that time, since you haven't booted into the system, correct?

That has yet to be confirmed so it's a pretty big unknown right now. But supposedly just dumping your NAND via RCM shouldn't raise any flags. Depending on how you then exist RCM that is

Check out yaDNS. it isolates your switch from the internet but allows local traffic like ftp
