I get similar errors no matter what i try to install. BTW the fact that WiiPowers WAD Manager says "Using IOS 60 (rev 6174) as firmware" does this mean that my IOS 60 has the trucha bug?

Thanks for everyone's efforts.

Yeah,

Same results as original 1.3, ret = 1029

I have a launch Wii with wiikey v1 and I've been so careful not to screw it up.
Too excited to store stuff on SD cards I guess....

Yep, same exact feeling. Can't do anything involving cios installs. I wish I had a time machine.

I ended up buying a used wii on ebay just now with an old firmware on it. I suppose i'll try to sell the one I have with the wiikey / 4.0 installed since i don't wanna open it up, and then just format all of the data off it... and then just re-download the purchased virtual console stuff as an added selling point. As far as the wiikey, I guess i'll just leave it in there

I'm too impatient and I got a nice deal on a used one so i should at the very least end up breaking even (though its unfortunate I wont be able to transfer the bought games, legally), minus the modchip.

I definitely learned my lesson though, and will make sure not to abandon my wii for long periods of time :-P -- I have no patience to wait for a fix, and I mind as well start at 3.1u and work my way through the ropes.... this time without screwing up, of course.

I'm sure i'll make a post to make 100% sure i am doing it right, though, once I get it in the mail.... would be pretty brutal if i made the same mistake twice

Well, I must have had cIOS installed after all. I used the Wad Manager 1.3 and was able to install a game. Played it for about a minute.
Either that, or I found a way around the patches. Wish I knew what I did, but I really have no clue anymore.

That's what happens when you have insomnia.

Just run that sign check and get these results

iso9 unfixed
ios16 not found
ios30 unfixed
ios31 unfixed
ios36 unfixed
ios37 fixed

so does that mean i'm screwed for the moment with trying to install any wads?

Is there at least a way to get wad installing back if you have a modchip installed? I never did any cIOS stuff either because I had the chip, but I wanted the SDHC support and didn't bother to check on possible effects (dumb, I know

).

I have a feeling it may be a while...stinks, but what're ya gonna do?

I know this is no help but
STAY ON 3.2 PEOPLE! That stupid SDHC "support" is a joke

1. HBC Supports SDHC already
2. Nintendo's way of running games off the SD Card is to install the game to NAND every time you run it and then uninstall it when you're done, it WILL corrupt your internal flash memory eventually if often change games

It's BS, you don't need all those WiiWare games and you don't need a single VC game except for N64 ones since everything else is emulated and takes up less space on an SD card!

Man I'm in the same boat as everyone else in this topic, I hope to god someone works on hacking/fixing this sometime soon. I heard somewhere that team twiizers has hacked 4.0 but was just beta testing it right now, hopefully that works out
