I just modded my Wii U today, and I'm actually having difficulty finding anything about setting up a RedNAND/EmuNAND.

Is there any reason to use one? What if I want to install pirated DLCs? Then would I have to use an EmuNAND?

don't bother. you can do the same stuff on regular nand with very little risk.
Honestly I might just delete my Wi-Fi settings completely. The multiplayer games worth playing (MK8 and Pokken) I already have on Switch (and stuff like Splatoon 2 and Smash Ultimate). With Neflix for Wii U shutting down, YouTube and FUNimation on Switch, and Crunchyroll on Wii U not being great there's probably no reason to even go online, except maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X.
