As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason not to do it. From most of what I've read, all the people who objected to installing this are just being paranoid. Even if you decide to get rid of it in the future, you can always go back to OFW.

The main reason would be to stick on a lower firmware to have better compatibility for backups. Even that'll be fixed soon though, so no, there's really no reason...

Here's one possible reason. Sony logs everything you run and uploads the log to their servers every time your PS3 is on the Internet, even if you aren't on PSN. They will probably start banning people. A future CFW might block these uploads... like the Stealth Xbox 360 mods.
