Okay, I've been wondering lately about an anti-virus for Mac. Sure, it normally doesn't even get viruses, but I just wanted to be on the VERY safe side. Does anyone here (especially those with experience) know of a good anti-virus for Mac?

Thanks for the help!

Don't use one. Even if you want to be safe. You won't get one that easily, and even if you do, you can run a malware removing tool once and it's gone. Running useless AVs just slows down your system and eats up resources.
In case you REALLY want one, there's Intego VirusBarrier. But honestly you're much better off just not running one.

you should maybe get this: http://linkscanner.avg.com/Mac/
It's not a anti virus program but it's worth to get.
also you don't need anti virus program for your mac.

AVG LinkScanner® has two key features that protect you:

Surf-Shield scans pages behind their links before you click on them. It does the same thing every time you enter a web address into your browser. If the page is infected, it simply prevents you from opening it.
Search-Shield scans your Google, Yahoo! and Bing search results and places a safety rating next to each link, letting you know which sites can be trusted and which are to be avoided.

iAntiVirus Free edition is fine. It should protect you from any Mac threats as well remove PC threats so that when you send a file to a PC friend, they won't get infected.

There is no need for anti virus for MAC. MAC OSX is built differently from Windows. The inner core is more like linux, it uses priviligies when running programs. A program can't fully take over your machine if you don't give it priviligies to do so, unlike Windows older than Vista where everybody ran a program under a Administrator account, which gave every programs full priviligies to do what they want. In Vista and W7, Microsoft changed that to run programs in restricted priviligies in a virtual environment.

So if you run a virus on a MAC, it won't infect and hurt your computer to a slight degree that you require a full reformat/reinstallation, if the virus does not know about any security holes which I think is probably none now. The chance of getting a virus infection on a MAC is pretty slim.

The best prevention for viruses on a MAC is to ALWAYS update OSX. Apple has probably fixed security issues in new updates.
