Sounds just like mine which is definitely legit. The only fake ones I know of are the ones with built-in memory, but I'm not too up-to-date on things like that.

I am running a version of the firmware that would not brick it if it was un-genuine, but I would like to have a more recent version.

1.18 is the newest, it is also the last one. There isn't a firmware that will brick fake R4s.

No hacker that r4 is legit. r4 has a page so people dont ask dumb questions about obviously legit r4s

always one and it PISSES me off.


I want a few fakes because they would be fun to have.

that isn't so convincing, i still think mine is a fake.. for some strange reason. My R4 doesn't even fit in my DS slot unless i fold it.. please, someone help me!

Looks just like 2 I recently received. I cracked mine open and they were a fake/clone/copy/etc (according to the "these are fakes, these are real" pictures - which were prob BS) Welcome to the clone club. I was initially ticked, but then... Whatever... I mean, it works, right? Works as advertised? Paid $30? It's essentially the same crap. What more can you ask for? A full body massage with a happy ending? So it's a fake, who cares. It works, it was cheap, and you never have to buy another DS game again.

You should be able to run the most recent version of the firmware, as already mentioned. Just don't update with the dreaded "EVIL 15 SEP" firmware if it's actually released. Not that I think it would damage your DS. But let other people try it.

If you bought within the last 3 months, just assume it's a clone or a fake. And for the love of God, stop buying them and they'll go away.

I took the casing off and I can confirm I have a legit one.

Easy, where did you buy yours? And did you peel back to the sticker, because if there isn't a chip underneath it, then you might have just been mistaken, or the picture im using as reference is wrong.
