Zelda-like RPG for the GBA. Although short, it's suppose to be an exciting action-adventure RPG game.
The link to the download below is the latest that the developer has released (which was a minor fix, not released too long ago).
About Anguna said:
  • 5 dungeons and a large overworld to explore
  • Multiple weapons and items including: a sword, bow & arrows, bear traps, dynamite, lantern, magic boots, and more
  • Many hidden rooms, secrets, and powerups
  • Lots of interesting enemies and boss monsters

Screen shots look good. Remind me of Guardian of Paradise, which I thought was REALLY good for a free game
This looks awesome. Kind of makes me wonder if Black Sigil could've been done with PAlib/devkit instead of an official Nintendo SDK, lol.

although the game play is very simple it is engaging and fun. it reminds me of "another world" because it was coded by 1 person over many years and the whole game can be played through in 1 sitting if you know where to go to get what.

everyone should give it a go.

I gave it a go and yeah it's decent gameplay-wise, but it feels empty and level design is bad. it feels like that thin red line is totally missing. you just wander around and don't really know what to do or where to go.

I think this game is really well made, and looks/feels better than most homebrew, but yeah the polish is missing. and what's the point of enemies on the overworld besides getting in the way? I usually just avoid them

if you just explore the over world you will find dungeons. gathering items as you go will reveal what areas you can go back and explore which were blocked the 1st time through. i don't see that as being a design flaw at all, but i will admit that the dungeons are at times simple to play through. it is clear that most of the 3years worth of development went into the game engine and probably waiting on sprites to be finished while real life got in the way.

i think to really push the game over the line or into the next level would have been some weapon/armor upgrades, a few towns, some ppl to talk with, and some side quests. this way the simplistic dungeon design wouldn't have mattered and the game would have had atleast a 7hr play time. now that i know where everything is i can get through it in just a few quick hours.

still for a homebrew, considering i'm playing it for free.. i can't complain at all. i hope tolbert goes back on his word and decides to up grade the game and really finish it off.

How does this compare to the first Zelda? It's supposedly a knock-off.

I wouldn't call it a knock-off ...

It's a top-down action-adventure, with real-time combat & item-use ...

There were games before Zelda that looked like this ...

Give it a cash injection, and you will see a decent product ...

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
