Angry Birds barely kicked off as a franchise, Space actually brings in what seems to be a whole lot of new features and a different map style altogether - it's innovative. I could name dozens of games that "milk" their crap, but in this instance it's just invalid to assume that any "milking" is going on.

You could say the exact same thing about Mario, Sonic, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and just about any "big" franchise nowadays.

I've always enjoyed Angry Birds.

I enjoy playing it either in bed when I'm listening to podcasts or on the commute to school on my Galaxy Nexus.

I'm looking forward to Angry Birds Space since it just improves upon a formula of games I already enjoy.

What I'm probably going to do is: Buy it for my iPad(If I remember correctly, it's $2 - $3 for the iPad version, sadly it isn't universal) and download the free version for Android and just remove the ads via AdBlock.(Or if that doesn't work, I'll just pirate it because I refuse to buy it twice)

Either way, I'm looking forward to this. For what this game does(pick up, play a few levels here and there, stop and move on) it's fun

EDIT:
welcome to box physics.

might be the jelousy speaking, but seriously, how much money and sequels can one make out of one simple physics demo. and the news sites, including gbatemp keep on covering it. what the fuck.

lastly, this isnt a fun game. its boring casual shit, not much different from those crappy facebook games and flash games for housewives.

Tetris is fun. PuyoPop is fun. Angry Birds isn't, especially not after sequel #999
I find this funny. Because Tetris(Which I love) has still had more remakes in the last few years than Angry Birds.... just because a game is "casual" doesn't make it bad from the get go. I am not saying you're wrong for disliking it. I'm just saying the way you expressed it wasn't great.

For the love of, it's a stupid damn flash game that has overstayed it's welcome, it's got a damn TV show now.

I tried the PC version ,it was ok, but it wasn't worth all of this

They have to release it on the day I have three hours free between classes.

As long as it's on the Play Market I'll buy it. Especially if it's HD and it will work with my HP Touchpad and Galaxy Nexus.

lol @ bold.

I am not surprised that Rovio is milking out another version of Angry Birds.. I am surprised however that people feel the need for yet another game when the newer entries are rarely any different from the original. I got it for free on my Android after hearing abou the craze. It's an ok game to play when I am at the Dr's office waiting for an appoinment, but I also play Sudoku too so take that as you will. Whenever I am anywhere else though, Angry birds does not satisfy & I doubt the birds going into space will change that :(

The first time Angry Birds was released, I downloaded it, played it for about 5 minutes and deleted it. Truth be told, Angry Birds never really caught on with me.

But just because I don't like Angry Birds does not mean it is a bad game.

Thinking that would just make me seem silly.

This new "innovative gameplay" could make it interesting though. Maybe I'll check it out tonight.

It's a game that's very well made to cater for the platform it's developed for and it does what it does very well. I still maintain if it had come out on the Amiga or something it would be seen as a classic, and a 'gamer's game' rather than something casual.

yeah i agree with you, it would be up there with Sonic and Mario.

But this is seen as a classic from 00' kids I guess, lol.

of course there are thousands of remakes, each not really different from the other. The first copy i got was the NES version and the second and last tetris installement i bought was the DS game. pretty nice multiplayer too. I won't be getting the a 3DS or whatever version anytime soon.

Tetris games aren't really sequels either. More like a port to a new console.

Angry shitstains is available for the same platforms yet again with just nothing more to add beside some more physics simulations and monotonous gameplay

Getting butt-flustered over a game for a mobile phone? Haha, settle the fuck down.

Most mobile phone games are made to be easily accessible to the widest audience possible. Games that anyone can pick-up-and-play without any problems, wherever they may be. If this is your negative definition of a casual, you seriously need to get over yourself.

Rovio has done an excellent job with creating an image and a brand for themselves. Pull anyone off the street, show them a picture of that stupid red bird, and I bet most people will instantly be able to name the game's title. Everyone has a phone, and Rovio has tapped into that massive market, becoming directly associated with the mobile gaming industry.

A lot of people find a new Angry Birds title appealing. Just because it lacks enough substance to meet with your definition of a "game" doesn't mean you should go off labeling a new iteration or its fans as "casuals" like a rabid dog.
