Well, there are claims that the current CEO and executives of ZA/UM enabled the CEO to take ownership of the Disco Elysium 1 property without the creators' permission. So that's not a good thing. (I want to be clear here that when I say "creators", I am referring specifically to two individuals and not ZA/UM's creative team at-large)
HOWEVER, there is also evidence that said creators' behavior was constructing an unpleasant, borderline toxic and ultimately exclusionary workplace and that, putting aside the fates of the Disco Elysium 1& 2 properties aside, their exit from ZA/UM is actually preferable for the rest of ZA/UM's creative team.
Assuming that the profits on this game *are* going back to ZA/UM and not the creators, and that the executives are putting that money toward paying their creatives (who actually put in the work to make the game), this would be a very good thing, as I'm pretty certain some creatives were undercompensated (or missing compensation entirely) for their contributions to the original project as a direct result of the creators' behavior.
