ZA/UM's first game since Disco Elysium, ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies, is set to release soon on PC. The developers have lifted the curtain on the launch date today, and aired a new trailer to accompany the announcement:

ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is an espionage RPG built on psychological depth and consequences that truly matter. You play as Herschel Wilk - codename CASCADE - a brilliant but burnt-out operant who returns from spy-purgatory for one final assignment. Now she must navigate a world buried beneath secrets and redeem herself after a catastrophic failure during her last mission.

Failure is a central topic: ZA/UM exploring the human condition as it is - not as we wish it to be. Every failed check during dialogues is the pretext for what happens next in your own, unique story. While many games strive for an idealised or impossible state, ZERO PARADES focuses on the beauty of humanity at moments of weakness or fragility.

At launch, the game will feature full English voice-over and full text localization will be available in English, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Latin America). Eight additional languages are planned and will be added through free updates beginning later this year: French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Traditional Chinese, and Turkish.

ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies arrives on May 21, 2026 for $39.99 on Steam (Steam Deck Verified), Epic Games Store, and GOG. A PS5 launch is planned for later this year.

For those looking to experience what ZERO PARADES has to offer, they can try the Steam demo. ZA/UM recently extended the Steam Next Fest demo until April 13th, which provides access to the opening hours, including two full quests, various side activities and open exploration of the environment.

The demo was the definition of "okay". I'm not rooting against the game, but it needs to deliver better material if it wants to avoid being buried by the negative sentiment against ZA/UM.
