By patch, do you mean running it in one of the programs to make a partition.iso? If so, then yes. I burned the partition iso instead of the original one.

If your having problems try using the waninkoko's boot.dol file instead of the one you have - you should be able to see whats happening in that a bit better and let us know the error. If you are using the zip file i have just go into your SD card and into the apps and ISO loader and rename the BootOriginal.dol file to boot.dol - then try it again.

Yeah, I used the archive in your sig (Thanks a lot btw). I was using psycon's channel build so I guess I'll try Waninkoko's.

EDIT: Doesn't appear to work on Waninkoko's loader either.

Whats happening on his one ? Since the text isnt covered on Waninkoko's you should be able to see whats happening and what text is displaying . it should give us a better idea of whats going on if we know the errors.

Try going to the homebrew channel and open the loader that way if you dont get any info.

ive been using the archive in djtaz's sig worked like a charm

thou i did have to find a better way to patch the games...

None of the stuff is mine , i just gather the best stuff i see and update as i go - I updated the backuploader recently and also put in the Wii DVD ripper from Waninkoko.

I just think its handy to have the best working things all in the same zip , but other than the HowTo file , and a few images i pretty much did nothing.

The game just gets stuck on a black screen like the other one. It was probably a bad dump or something since I got the game off of a torrent site. I'll try redownloading the game somewhere and see if it works.

Few questions...
Do I still need to use the Wii Twilight Hack procedure to get the Homebrew Channel installed?

Do the backed up games you can play also play online?

Is anyone ever gonna compile a complete guide to this the right way for n00bs?
There are multiple items that are dependent on each other. You will have to research the information for each on your own since they are all fairly well documented. To be nice since you are new Ill simplify -

You need a Wii, a Wiimote and an SD card permately
Borrow Twilight princess and boot it with the hacked save
The hacked save installs the homebrew channel
Install the wad manager
Use wad manager to install the custom IOS
Use homebrew channel to run DVDX installer in advanced mode choosing ios 249
Grab either backup launcher dol to be used with Homebrew channel or the WAD version
If DOL install in homebrew channel apps folder. If WAD version use wad manager to install
Download ISO of your game
Use the "patcher" to modify the ISO
Burn the ISO to a DVD-R
Put the disc in your system and open the launcher and then choose boot game.

The Iso doesnt require any patching like brickblocker or other conversion tools ?

You need to patch the games for them to work.

Check out the HOW TO in my Sig - its only a text file so u can open it there and then - STAGE 3 is the patching.

Is there any text at all on the screen ? Does it load the game and identify it and then start up ?
If it doesnt even find the disc then you problem is the loader itself or something related to it like dvdx or the IOS required.

If you get the text and it stops mid load on a black screen then its more than likely the downlo...erm backed up file being corrupt as you said.

Just remember we are working blind here - if you dont tell us exactly whats happening then we wont know - the more info the better ... step by step makes it easier for us to see whats happening.

OMG OMG.....star wars unleashed worked 2 times, and then it froze n now it won't work. but all my other games that i burnt work. whadu i do????

It does show some text, but there doesn't seem to be anything written there that implies that there's a problem with the disc or the loader. It boots my legit copy of Zelda so it might just be the SMG iso (Unless a legitimate disc bypasses the backup loader).

Nope, just the step that decrypts it. No region adjustment, video mode change or update removal is necessary.

Just out of curiousity I can also have other apps on the SD card as well...as in Scumm, Wii browser, etc. and it won't effect the loader right?
Thanks for all the support... when is someone gonna make a video besides that one that linkinworm made anyways? I know some of you smart
kids have extra time on your hands... instead of just wanking...thanks again..

The homebrew channel is like your start menu with a list of icons that launch programs. The backup launcher can be installed as just another item on the list. With the current size of the homebrew applications you could pretty much store every single one available so far on a 2gb card and still have LOTS of free space.

Why do you need a video? You insert the game, start the launcher and choose to boot the game!

Some of the smart kids can multitask (that means do two or more things at one time for the not so smart kids) which means (just to really push the detail on this) they can Wii hack and wank at the same time. No time wasted.

It would be cool if someone with some Photoshop skills would create a nice icon for the homebrew channel for this backup loader!

Hey.. I knew I would get someone's attention!

Anyways... you're going great there djtaz... don't take that the wrong way...I was once young and had those skills to wank and play video games with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth too...hehe...

The younger generation now a days is so much more advanced and has a lot more resources than I did back then... but I was also a hacker as well back then too... my old Commodore 64 still even works..not that I plug away at anymore...but that's where it all started for me..and playing "backups"...hehe...

I am an artist...so maybe I can actually work on a nice icon for the homebrew channel for this....
what size does it need to be? Believe it or not the avatar I am using is all me... from a #2 pencil and some paper to scanned and enhanced with Corel Photoshop and a little patience....

and Thanks again to all of you who are serious about making this project work!

If I wasn't in college or just had less homework and studying, I would hook up my Wii, get 20+ ISOs, and try them all. But I'll have to wait until mid-December, probably when everything is fixed.

And thanks a ton djtaz for your packaged Backup Loader rar

I have checked the compatibility chart and it stated that for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption the game kinda stops you from moving forward cos the doors dont open 20 mins into the game.

Well I have the Pal vesion of the game and have tried it on both Waninko's and Wiigator's backup loaderfor both I managed to get alot further then whats was listed on the chart.

My problem is that early on in the game you have to stop a meteor from crashing on the planet and are given about 4 min to do so but it takes soooo damn long for the doors that the time runs out.

Anyone have any idea how to get past that issue. I am considering using the original and getting pass this bit but was still wondering if there is any way to get through it without switching to the original?

Ok... I went and bought the game at gamestop for $23.. I did exactly what the instructions said to do...I even watched a youtube video on the twilight hack just to be safe...

Everything worked perfectly on my first backup game! On my virgin Wii w/ 3.3firmware.

Good job you guys! This has to be the best hack I've seen in a long time.

If anyone needs help...Lemme know... This is way I did it.

I downloaded a Starwars Force Unleashed USA already ISOed off a torrent site.

I patched it using Waninokos backup creator...

I then used DJTaz's WiiBackupLoader.zip with his instructions.

I skipped a few of his parts about preparing an .iso game since I had already patched it with Waninoko's backup creator patch...

I launched the game from the Wiibackup Loader I installed from the Homebrew channel...

Works perfect!

Again- Thanks!
