Gaming An indepth RPG?

Fighting Fantasy wasn't THAT hard. It's a little tough at first, and the end boss is INSANE, but other than that, I found it extremely fun. It was just hard enough to be challenging and rewarding, but not ridiculous.

Dragon Quest 9

The main storyline is crap
but the grinding element for this game is damn good

grinding for elements for better gears via treasure map
there isn't character level in this game
how powerful your character is will be judged by their job level

Soma Bringer is all you need but you will need 2 things:
-A translation patch (can be found here)
-Patience because the dungeons are HUGE.

I really love this game, this is my favorite RPG on the DS. Everything is good on it, the storyline, characters, customization, skills, classes, difficulty, songs, everything!

Oh... now I saw "Morrowind". You can try Fighting Fantasy (great game) or Orcs and Elves. But still, Soma Bringer will be a good game for you.

hi guys Im playing dragon quest IX its maybe japanese but belive me there's nothing you cant understands because its too simple and there's some menu translation that you can easy find with googling.the only bad of japanese is you dont know where to go and you're running all the maps .but I must say it really is good.a good sword is 560 gold.you can collect more golds from more diffucult monsters.the guild making can be a lil' duffucult to you but you can try it and learn.so the game's really awwesome and I cant ever wait 1 year or it to come out iin us.damn !!

Dragon Quest 9

dragon quest 9 doesnt look good to me but the best rpg one is final fantsy III(uses a good job system)

Custom Robo Arena might be good for you. The story isn't very deep, but the robot customization and battle system might be up your alley.

the dark spire its a cool first person rpg, you can earn gold and exp in killing enemies in the tower to customize your party in the town

I totally second this.

You might want to try out Etrian Odyssey I & II first, though.
They're way more userfriendly, and I think they totally fit your description.
