Ok, so This has NEVER happened to me before. Just did the same thing last week and everything went fine, like always.

Here's what happened:

I used checkpoint to back up a save file from pokemon ULTRA SUN. Then took the SD card out, inserted in another computer and opened the save file with pkhex. Inserted two legit pokemon into ultrasun save file and saved the file. Reinserted the Sd card on my 3ds. And i opened ULTRA MOON to check something. Saved and when I clicked home to close the game, this error message appeared (attached file) . I got in panic. Tried to open ULTRA MOON again and the same error happened. Opened ultra sun (without restoring the edited save file) and it opened and closed fine. Then Shut the 3ds down, took the SD card out, reinserted and manage to enter in ULTRA MOON again. Closed it was fine. So I ithought everything was fixed and RESTORED THE CHECKPOIN ULTRA SUN save I had edited. Opened ULTRA SUN. And the same error happened to ultra sun (attached file). Tried ULTRA MOON again and after a while the same crash happened. Both ULTRA MOON AND ULTRA SUN are digital CIA files. My cartridge game seems to be working fine.

SO, WHAT HAS HAPPENED ? Can somebody explain to me based on these pictures? Do I need to send here the "crash dump"? Please somebody help me fix this? I still haven't backed up the pokemon in pokebank to transfer to home. I can't lose these games and saves. I'm desperate. This HAS NEVER happened before. And I'm using the same apps, same everything. Like I said, just used checkpoint last week.

PS: The error started in a game I haven't even edited neither backed up the save file (ultra moon). All I did on the sd card was save the pkhex edition (from ultrasun) into checkpoint folder. Can this be a corruption on my sd card maybe??

EDIT: Ok, SO I WAS LUMA 12 point something. Updated it and the problem SEEMS GONE for now. So, out of curiosity then, how come luma 12 was working fine for me for a year, and suddenly today it "broke" ? Was it just Because I used the internet on the DS (pkbank) ?

The place to look is https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_exception_screen , but there are no entries there corresponding to your images.

Can this be a corruption on my sd card maybe??
That is certainly something that frequently occurs, especially after physically handling the card. In the future you should probably just leave your card in your 3DS and use FTPD to transfer files wirelessly.

Standard procedure is to copy everything off your SD card (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier is recommended to be safe), format the card, test the empty card with h2testw, and copy everything back again.
