Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum. I saw that the other cards were in the hacking and backup loaders sub-forum. I didn't think mine would be in the same category. They are teaching/showing/sharing their images, procedures or ideas. I'm showcasing what I did with their ideas.

I made some amiibo cards. Following are some pictures and how I went about doing it. Some links to the tools I used etc.

I've been wanting to make some amiibo cards for a while. Finally got some of my tools together and am doing a trial run. Sharing my experience with the board. Clicking on the thumbnails will lead to the full picture.

    My laminating machine.

Got it from walmart. $20 https://www.walmart.com/ip/17208765
Other more expensive machines will do it faster and bigger pages etc. I have no need for those. No rush.

The laminating pouches I used. Comes in a box of 100.

    Also from walmart. $4 https://www.walmart.com/ip/19312009

    The printed page.

I had to go to a local printing place. No easy access to any good quality printer. I tried staples. They didn't want to print it. Didn't know anyone that I could use. The place I ended up charged me $1 a page. I'll try something cheaper next time. Next batch should come out of the local library. They dont care what I print and they charge 20 cents a page.

A few things that I used laid out on the table.

You can see the pages that I printed and the backing page. Not having a good cutting surface I went to the dollar tree and got a cutting board like thing. It is flimsy plastic and sold as a cutting board. I figured it would do for my purpose.

    Partial work.

Used the ruler and a blade to cut the pieces. The layout that I got from some unknown benefactor had some bleed area. I had to trim some of that off. The vertical spacing was fine but the horizontal needed to come off a bit. I tried to trim roughly 1.5 mm on each side. I held the front and back pages together while cutting so that they came out (mostly) even.

    Finished product.

The edges are sealed in. I may end up trimming a bit more off the sides to make it fit better but I'm happy with the overall product. My kids are going to end up trashing it soon anyways.

I'm still waiting on my NFC tags. They are taking forever to get here. I ordered them about a month ago. Still not here. When they get here I sandwich it between the front and back before laminating it.

Just wanted to add that I got my nfc tags in the mail. After some help got them written to. Made some cards. Thanks a bunch to Random11 for his Zelda cards and for his tutorial for making the scribus template. I got them all sorted now. Made some awesome looking cards thanks for all his help.

So with these "cards," you can basically use them as if they were regular amiibo?

Yes. You can use them just as you can a regular amiibo. Minus the bulk. Not that I have a hobby of carrying around a bunch of cards but if you're so inclined you can take 5-10 cards with you and get into some mobile gaming. Cant do that with regular amiibos. I regularly take my wii u to two different houses. 2-3 times a week they will spend a few hours at another house. That would be an amazing experience with the Switch.

Thanks. It's pretty simple really. I forget where I first read the suggestion. It was before I got my nfc tags. Two pieces of paper. A front, a back and the nfc tag sandwiched between the two.

Forgive me if I dont post the full size images but here is a card that I made on my own. Click the image for bigger size image. All images are off the net and editing done in the GIMP. Much thanks to Random11 for his tutorial in working with scribus. Made two cards so you see the front and back.

Would you please post an original image of that Poochy Amiibo? I've been looking for it and can't find it online...
