Hey guys! I am brand new here and to the majority of DS world! I use to be good at customizing and homebrew of PSP if that matters.

Anyways, my main and only purpose: Patch/download Pokemon Blaze Black 2 in my 3ds xl (I have original game)

I want more challenge compared to what the original is offering me atm


Here is what I have:
3ds xl (New)
Pkmn Black 2 (New) Although I will probably need a rom...

What do I need? (I hear r4 cards, sdhc cards etc...........? Which specific ones do I need? )

buy a Supercard DSTWO with a big SD card. DSTWO has a GBA emu, better SNES emu and great compatibility.

You will need a flash cart in order to play ROM hacks on an actual DS unit.

I went to the R4 Shop site and they have a R4 gold that is compatible with 3DS but doesn't mention 3DS XL ...Is this the same thing?

As long as the R4i Gold is updated FIRST, BEFORE the 3DS, then it'll work fine and you won't need an older DS. Make sure the site updates it before sending it to you.

Also make sure it's the cart with r4ids.cn printed on it.

And yes you will need a ROM. There are ways to dump your own cart yourself, but it doesn't work on a 3DS so you might as well go download a ROM and save yourself some hassle.
