Hacking AKAIO 1.8.0 Released!

Well this def should be stickied over the other one which leads to nothing but a non-existing thread, and you can't comment on it

Prior to installing 1.8 playing Super Scribble Naughts would show the save message, then go to a white screen and play the intro music once and then just stay at a white screen. Now after installing 1.8 and enabling AP-Bypass I just get the intro looping over and over

Also, prior to installing 1.8 playing Lufia Curse of the Sinstrals would just load a few credits screens and then just give me a black screen. After installing 1.8 and enabling AP-Bypass I still just get a black screen.

I tried reformatting my MicroSD card and reinstalling fresh copies of things but still no change. I'm using a 4GB Kingston Class 4 MicroSD card.

So is there any reason why the update isn't working for me or should I toss this piece of crap and invest in a SupercardDSTwo?

@Taellon if your problem was your AK2i we would have the same problem. Since Pkmn Black/White came out, it seems like some SD cards are presenting problems to play some games.

I'm playing every game without any problems, so is my brother with his AK2i. So, hopefully there's a fix to it. Oh BTW, did you try downloading your games from a different source? that seems to have helped other people.

I might just get a new MicroSD card. Mines given me grief ever since I got it so that's probably the problem right there. I got it as a free add-in when I bought my Acekard2i. What are some good MicroSD cards to get? I'll probably get either 4 or 8GB depending how I'm feeling when I go to buy one.

There's a list of MicroSD/HCs and their speeds here: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Memory_Speed_Tests
You want a high Read Speed (MB/s) and low Random Access (ms) time.

Endracion is right about Kingston being generally good cards, the problem is getting the ones made in Japan, which typically have good read speeds.
I use an ADATA 4GB Class 6 and the only problem I have so far is that Super Scribblenauts requires me to turn on the AP Bypass in AKAIO 1.8.0 (it should work normally, but some people are having problems). I bought it from NewEgg.com, and it was one of the cheapest 4GB MicroSDHCs at the time and Class 6.

I've gotten two random freezes playing Pokémon Black, but their nature are kind of weird, I guess, for it to be a contact issue - one while returning from the pause menu and another after a battle with a NPC. On both occasions, I had been playing the game for some time (but I had played for longer than that before without no crashes, so it doesn't really look like AP protection - I mean, nobody's said anything about crashes like these so far and everyone's been playing it for longer than me).

tl;dr random weird crashed happened at some points of the game, one of them just gave me two black screens while the other one froze the game. Neither soft-resetting in-game or to AKAIO's menu worked. Is it possibly a contact issue? Is it TK paper trick time?
By the way, I've had my AK2i not be recognized by the DS some times in the past, but just popping it out and back in made it work again.

[EDIT] The latter crash was weird - basically, the game stopped (including the music) while the NPC was going to say something on the overworld.
Also, tried the normal paper trick, that part of the game went fine (as I expected), I'm going to play more later and see if it solved the problem. If not, I'll try the TK trick.

How do you get to windows drive management ?

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management (may take a minute to load) -> Storage -> Disk Management
