Hacking Action Replay DS Saves

Ok so I went to stay at a friends house for a week, and I was helping him with his EDGE card and stuff when I saw he had an Action Replay DS. He said he didnt use it anymore because he somehow bricked it. So I unbricked it and am now using it, he had used it to upload a save file to his pokemon diamond. What I'm wondering is how he did it, and this is not an Action Replay MAX but a normal Action Replay DS.

Also I have looked all over google and havent found crap, all I have is the Action Replay, the software disc, and the cable. No packaging.

I don't know exactly what that was, but I have a hunch.

PokeSav has an option to make an AR code out of stuff you have chosen, so maybe that is what he meant? Can't think of anything other than that.

Yeah he used pokesav, ive used that for pokemans pearl for my M3 Real. But I want to know how to upload a metroid prime: hunters save.
