In another thread here, someone was giving an observational opinion on the design of the new AK2s. It was pointed out where and why the new design was cheaper in manufacturing cost, more efficient in energy consumption, and not subject to cold soldering joints (the reason for some of the bad batches from manufacturing in previous AK2s.)GrathXVI said:
