Hacking Acekard2i on 3DSXL?

So, it's a yes that I'm getting a brand new 3DSXL for Christmas this year.

But my question is, will my Acekard2i work on my 3DSXL?

I'm currently on Release 1.9.0 and I've never updated, thus, I'm clueless on how to do so, securely.

Ak2i doesn't work on 4.4x, and we all know systems like to come with the latest software possible... I wouldn't risk it.
