Hacking Acekard official firmware or AKAIO for DSL

Hi I just purchased an acekard 2i since I heard it was backwards compatible with ds lite and that the acekard 2.1 was defective but going to the acekards website, I saw two different firmwares one official and one AKAIO. I'm not sure which one to use can someone give me some advice? Thanks.

AKAIO is unofficial but it has tons of extra features so get that, it's terrific.
