I decided to buy the SuperCard DS ONE-i because of

1. the GUI changes...
(damnit!...but AK2i has AKAIO)

EDIT - WAIT WAIT WAIT.....would it be better to buy the SCDS ONE-I GUI? or get AKAIO? (they look the same!)

2. the USB updater...this will come in handy...and AceKard 2i will be sunk with an update by nintendo.

3. the awesome features that it has......like save types..and multiple saves if your sharing a game with someone. and so and and so forth.

4. my DS lite's power switch is dead (broke inside) and my only DS I have is my DSi

I am a long time DSone user and I have never had any problems with it, its easy to use and does exactly what it says on the time. As I have recently got a DSi, I ordered a DSonei which I am waiting for. I also ordered an aceKard 2i as well, which arrived first, but had to be sent back as it simply didn;t work. Obviously I may have just been unlucky, but its not a good start for my aceKard experiences.

I shall wait and see how my Supercard gets on when it arrives.

The AK2i HW:81 has a updateable kernel and they do it from within the DS (copy update file onto the microsd root first). The USB updater only provides POWER to the flashcart, no data transfer.

The GUI on the Supercard is just horrible. Scrolling through your games take like 2-3sec per game. The AK2i is instant.

wow...thank you so much for your help PharaohsVizier!

through your advice and other sources I have bought an AK2i from DX its in the mail now..

if there is an update on the DSi..i wont go online with it or use the store until some counteracting firmware is made for it...

wish me luck with it

I also have to same problem as stanley did here =p and after reading through it all it seems that the Supercard "unlimited updates" is only really useful if you accidentally updated your DSi right? So since I already have DS phat is there any need to get a Supercard? Cuz i heard its GUI is really slow, or does the unlimited updater do something else useful? cuz $22.00 and $13.00 are kinda a big difference, but I'll get it if it has a probability of working better than the Acekard in the long run as I really don't want to buy another flashcard.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

EDIT: Maybe i should put some of my criteria here going by importance!

1. Works in the long run (Very Important)
2. Often updates (Also very importantt)
3. GUI (Both are very nice IMO only Supercard a little bit slow)

All other features are I don't really care for

*bump* I'm kinda in a rush so can some give me a good and rational suggestion plz ( i know I'm so impatient but plz bear with me )

EDIT: K after browsing thru a couple threads the following cards are "future-proof" right?

Acekard 2i ---- You just need to update thru the DSi or and older DS
Supercard ----- You just use there USB thingy
EZFlash Vi ------ I don't know how it updates but i don't really want it =P

So since I have a DS Phat and going to get a DSi would it be safe to get the Acekard or would it be better just to get the Supercard for the long run?

Note: As already mentioned in my other post, The better it runs in the long run then I'll get it over everything else

As a long time owner of a Supercard DSone, and now the owner of an AceKard 2i and the Supercard DSonei, my two pennies worth.

The AceKard has a much quicker and slicker interface, I like it alot. The Supercard DSonei seems a bit quicker than the original supercard. My card of choice is the Supercard though because it is what I am used to and have never had any problems with it before. I am already onto my second Acekard because the first was DOA. Also, if you were to upgrade your DSi with a new firmware update that blocks the use of your AceKard 2i, then how do you update it if you dont have access to a DSlite or an original DSi without the new firmware. Just a thought.

I have the exact same problem and i have a question. I have a DSi and a DSLite. The only reason i am considering the SCDSOi is because of the Usb flasher thing. Aka i like Acekard better. But if nintendo released an update, could i pop the acekard into my DSLite and update it to work again?

I got the acekard 2i. I should have get the Supercard one it has so many more features like RTS And RTG. But Acekard is also good with AKAIO so I think I bought the right flashcart for myself.

Hey, I'm confused can the Acekard 2i be updated or not, and if not what flash cards can, only reply to me if your completely sure please, thanks.

If you want to a 100% update-safe card it's better to wait and see how actual flash cards survive the 1.4 update.

So how do we fare now? Has the 1.4 update been released? Did the update impact these products? Is the smartest card to get the Acekard2i or the SuperCard DSOnei?

Acekard 2i is the best , but you need a DS/ DS Lite or DSi pre-1.4 to update the bootloader to make it work with DSi 1.4.

Being that I do not have a DS/DSlite/DSi, is it reasonable to believe that a newly bought DSi will not have the latest update?

I have an Acekard 2i, Supercard DSONEi and iTouch2 and without a shadow of a doubt the Acekard 2i trumps the other two. It has a much nicer GUI, it's easy to use and isn't buggy.
