probably wont work out of the box

you will still need to flash it to work

Got a japanese game on DSi with error in Japanese, and show up as Acekard on my 3DS and show error in french... what should I do ?

Should I try updating with a DS Lite ?

run it on a DS lite and check the HWID

8181 seems to work with this update, while 4141( or something like that...) does not work with this

so if the HWID isnt 8181 then this update doesnt work until the acekard team makes a fix or something

yours seems like the other one

you can try to reflash it if you want, if you think otherwise

If someone could please answer my question, it would be helpful!

Okay So I checked my Acekard 2i and I hope this is good news. Please check this out though.

Acekard 2i info:

AKAIO v 1.8.0 (yes I know I'm outdated)

HW: 81 (thank god it's not 44 or whatever the number is)

SVN: 990 (If there is something wrong with this, please let me know.

With the following info above, is it safe for me to update my Acekard2i with the 3DS update?

If yes, is it okay to use my DSi or should I strictly use a DS Lite? Thank you for your help. I just want to make sure I don't screw up the first time

Wait, can someone tell me if bricking is still possible with the now official release?

Do I just copy to my micro SD card and put it on my 3DS? Do I have any risk...?

you can use both, seeing as the update did not ask to reinsert the card, but if you're feeling nervous then go for DS lite

I did the update and now It says akmenu4.nds not found...
I have Akaio 1.8.5a do I update??

check your SD card and check if there is an akmenu4.nds in it
if there isnt back up your games, format, reinstall AKAIO and put your games back in
that should work

AFAIK the official release is the same as the other one
check your HWID and if its something than 8181(or 81 in the AKAIO and updater) post back here

cmon guys, some of you people at least read the topic before you post...

First of all, update at your own risk.

ok, then.

1) You NEED a DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS to update your flashcard. NO, I repeat, NO updating possible with a 3DS. So if you have none of the old DS's anymore, don't bother posting

2) If your Hardware ID is 81, you can update it normally.
If your hardware ID is 44, YOU CANNOT UPDATE. Don't bother posting or asking, it won't work. Wait for an official update.

3) No matter what you do, YOU CANNOT BRICK YOUR 3DS with this.

How to find out your Hardware ID?
Touch the start button/word in the lower right corner of your bottom screen. Tap more, tap help. That should give a pop-up window. Your HW ID will be written next to the Akaio version on the bottom of the window.

So, you have a DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS and a HWID:81 card? Great. Follow these retard proof steps:

1) Put the update file on your MicroSD card. (get the correct file for the correct console, so DSi version for your DSi, DSXXL for the DSXXL etc...)
2) Run the file on your DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS.
3) Press start. Don't touch your DS until the process is finished
4.1) Follow any instructions the application tells you to do (i.e. Read English!)
4.2) Reboot your DS when the app tells you to, not before.
5) Try running it, if it works, congratulations, you now have an updated AceKard 2i
6)If it doesn't work, remove all the Akaio data from your card (_aio folder and akmenu4.nds) and recopy the latest version on your card.
7) Enjoy

Now stop asking the same question 10 times

@Firipu - Those instructions exclude somthing I had to do. After running mine, it said I had to eject the card while it was still on, then put it back in, and press B. then the start menu thing showed. Worked fine, HWID 8181/81

DSL btw, not DSI.

HW is 81...what's that mean?

Go to the Help menu in AKAIO, it'll say HWID somewhere on the screen that shows, usually lower region.

(update process seems to be different between DSi and DSL)

If only people would read topics now and not just post whatever they think...
