Hacking Acekard 2i 3DS update

Yah I was in help menus, it said HW: 81.

So I should be okay?

Will it still work on the DSL or just 3DS?

Um... yea, it'll work on DSL fine, just make sure you use the DSL and not DSi file in the rar download.

1) You NEED a DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS to update your flashcard. NO, I repeat, NO updating possible with a 3DS. So if you have none of the old DS's anymore, don't bother posting

2) If your Hardware ID is 81, you can update it normally.
If your hardware ID is 44, YOU CANNOT UPDATE. Don't bother posting or asking, it won't work. Wait for an official update.

3) No matter what you do, YOU CANNOT BRICK YOUR 3DS with this.

How to find out your Hardware ID?
Touch the start button/word in the lower right corner of your bottom screen. Tap more, tap help. That should give a pop-up window. Your HW ID will be written next to the Akaio version on the bottom of the window.


So, you have a DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS and a HWID:81 card? Great. Follow these retard proof steps:

1) Put the update file on your MicroSD card. (get the correct file for the correct console, so DSi version for your DSi, DSXXL for the DSXXL etc...)
2) Run the file on your DSi, DSXXL, DS lite or Original DS.
3) Press start. Don't touch your DS until the process is finished
4.1) Follow any instructions the application tells you to do (i.e. Read English!)
4.2) Reboot your DS when the app tells you to, not before.
5) Try running it, if it works, congratulations, you now have an updated AceKard 2i
6)If it doesn't work, remove all the Akaio data from your card (_aio folder and akmenu4.nds) and recopy the latest version on your card.
7) Enjoy

Now stop asking the same question 10 times

btw, I wonder what would happen if I would try the ak2ifw_update_14_DSL_new.nds on my card. Would it reset the card to the old firmware?

(i.e. do their firmwares reflash the entire card, or do they just update parts of it?)

No, it'd be the exact same, as with every previous AK firmware update.

No, it'd be the exact same, as with every previous AK firmware update.

TBH, this concerns me. The 3DS isn't region free, and seeing a japanese game on a USA or EUR 3DS's log is a CLEAR sign something fishy is going on.

my guess is one of 2 ways
a. he got a 3ds delivered to him by nintendo
b. he cheated by somehow picking it up early or it was mailed to him early
c. he lives in manhatten, who got the 3ds early by hijacking it (Thats Right)

TBH, this concerns me. The 3DS isn't region free, and seeing a japanese game on a USA or EUR 3DS's log is a CLEAR sign something fishy is going on.

3DS is region free for DS games.

So it doesn't really matter which game they use. They probably went with an obscure game on purpose. If it would've been mario or pokemon, Nintendo would probably be even madder

I fixed the akmenu4.nds problem, All I had to do was Update to 1.8.6a

You need to run the update on the Acekard.

The problem is the Acekard will not run on the 3DS until the update is applied.

I having my DSI update for my AK2i 3ds update working good fijne.
And to my 3DS working 1.0.0 EU and i having 3DS update 1.1.0 EU working yes AK2i 3DS no problem THANKS AK2i ;-).

Ik heb DSI update voor mij 3DS werkt het fijn.
En bij 3DS werkt ook 1.0.0. EU en ik heb 3DS laten update 1.1.0 EU werk steeds met AK2I 3ds geen probleem BEDANKT AK2i ;-).
