Hacking Acekard 2.1 on dsi xl?

I'm thinking of getting a dsi xl. so I was wondering........wouldn't it be possible to flash a regular acekard 2 to work with a dsi/xl like you do with the 2i? Since all flashing does is make it appear as a legit game. Or is there some super secret technology that makes the acekard 2i different from the 2.1?

Why? Couldn't the 2.1 be flashed with a fake game name like the 2i? This has been bugging me for a while.

IIRC the AK2i has added hardware to support the flashing of firmware.

My guess is that the 2's bootloader is simply not large enough to hold the code needed to give the response the system is requesting (as it varies by system), it cannot be written to at all (since there were no firmware updates on the DS/Lite it was never needed).
