Hello users!

Maybe someone had this error when open the .mdb database Access.

" The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.
(Error 3197)"

I was told that this can happen if hung computer. Please tell me how to restore this database?

Thanks in advance.

You don't really offer a lot of informations oO
But it sounds as if the computer still thinks that you are using the database already, maybe check if there is an active session with this data and kick it out.

Other possibilitys would be either an Anti Virus scanner making problems or whatever.

Apparently you are working with the database on the network. To correct the error, you need to disconnect from the network computer database and update the table on which the failure occurred. But first, before any experiments with the database, make a copy of it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Update the table can be damaged in many ways. For example, a request to copy its contents into a temporary table, delete the data from the table, and then again a request to restore them.

And there is a very useful program Access Recovery Toolbox to access recovery.
