Have you bricked trying to get a9lh

The old guide was time-consuming, and I had a few bumps along the way, (closing the 3DS while restoring a NAND backup is absolutely stupid) but in the end I came through and the only problems I had were my own fault deviating the guide accidentally.
On the other hand, I was one of the first people to install a9lh on my own 3DS. This was before Plailects Guide even existed. (Who else remembers compiling their own installs?) I even tested OTPHelper, you know, that now-useless tool.
With the new Guide, there should be absolutely no reason not to install a9lh. An hour of your time will be made up for all the menuhax crashes you'd get otherwise.

Than the web compiler came.

I installed it on an o3DS 4.4/Emunand 9.7 using the old guide a week before the new one was made available, and later on a brand new n3DS 10.7 using the just released new guide. Both without any serious issues. The only minor issue I had across both consoles was a crash when initially downgrading the n3DS to 9.2, but I just redid the downgrade step as the guide instructs and everything went well.

I only ever bricked updating arm9loaderhax. I'm in the process of installing it on another console right now on a n3DS XL for a a9lh install service.

I installed it on a small n3DS fine two days ago, but had a frankenfirmware downgrading to 9.2. (for a a9lh install service)

On a 3DS XL (mine)

A 2DS (friend)

A 2DS (brother's)

A 2DS (mine)

A 2DS (mine)

and a New 3DS XL (mine). No bricks with those.

this isn't really necessary anymore. the new guide removed cubic ninja otp, since in each case (except 2.1.0-4) it's easier to just do the 2.1 ctrtransfer, and easier to maintain less of the guide.
His browser is faulty and won't load the dukesrg page in 2.1.

is it 2.1.0-4? what's the browser version? how can it be faulty?
I don't know, apparently he's tried suggestions from lots of people and even gotten a hard mod to update to 11.0 and then downgrade from there and nothing works. The page freezes and pressing select doesn't do anything.

SD card should be checked. try other SD cards. try different arm9.bin/arm11.bin files (OTPHelper, see if it boots). check internet connection I guess.

Well personally if any bricks, i blame sd cards, they are my worst enemies. But if i know i am to blame, i blame myself. To be honest, the guide is well written but find people still have trouble understanding or following instructions. If the guide couldn't be any clearer, i dunno what then. I used the guide (before update) 3 times and never failed. I used the SD card the system came with in all instances too. But still i blame sd cards. :P

All i can say is My psp MEMORY STICK PRO DUO was better trusted than SD cards, is commonly used for everything now and just seem so untrustworthy. That why is so price efficent and cheap i guess. While Vita memory cards are expensive, no one complained about how badly they function or faultuy. One branded memory cards, working flawless, multiple branded memory cards, work..... less than perfect, you get the idea.

I actually have a 3DS that needs a downgrade from 11.0 So if i can i'll try the new guide this time instead of the EMUNAND stuff. :D (Is actually one i already had a9lh installed on) :P

If you simply follow the guide, you will be fine. I've installed A9LH multiple times and I haven't bricked a single system.
Most people who have bricked, were normally doing something stupid, like following youtube videos or super out of date guides, like youtube videos.
If you simply follow this guide, you will be fine
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

I had the luck of following an Youtube video that was based on Plailect's guide.

I think maybe the op should specify in the poll "Using plailect guide to get a9lh" and then add option for, "Used other tutorial video, friend, contact, etc." Maybe. We dunno if everyone here used the guide or not but there is other instructions provided the same thing so we wouldn't know for sure unless they say so.

changing that now
Best i could do was 2 votes and additional options
